Des Moines mayor says he's worried about coronavirus spread at Trump rally

Source: The Hill

The mayor of Des Moines, Iowa, said he is worried that President Trump's campaign rally in Des Moines this week could be responsible for spreading COVID-19 in the city.

Asked by the Des Moines Register whether he is concerned that the event could accelerate the spread of COVID-19 in Des Moines, Mayor Frank Cownie (D) said he "absolutely" was.

"Absolutely I'm worried about the spread. We don't want a super-spread event here in Des Moines," Cownie told the newspaper. “We urge everyone who would attend this event to wear a mask and social distance as best they can, and to stay safe and healthy.”

“We all have to do everything we can do to keep our numbers down,” he continued. “It’s proven, it’s scientific facts.”

Don't they have laws on crowd size? Don't they control the municipal facilities Trump uses for his Klan rallies?

Good luck with that, Frank.

The Trumpism runs deep in the veins of Iowa Trump supporters. They will travel from the hinterlands far and wide, as far as Vichy Iowa in the west and as far north as the Minnesota border to see their fearless leader. Maskless they will be while standing shoulder to shoulder in solidarity. You can count on it.

And Kim Reynolds, in all her school girl crush sycophantic glory will be there to cheer them on. You can count on that too.

Joni Ernst will be in Washington following direction from her supervisors on the Judiciary committee as she adheres to the nonexistent “Biden Rule” in ramming through another stolen SC seat.

I loathe these people.
