California Republican Party says it will not comply with state's cease and desist order on ballot dr

Source: cnn

(CNN)The California Republican Party said Wednesday it will not comply with the state's cease-and-desist order over unofficial ballot drop boxes placed in at least four counties ahead of the November election.
The unauthorized ballot boxes, which state officials have called illegal, have been found in at least four counties across the state: Los Angeles, Ventura, Orange and Fresno.
"Ballot harvesting program will continue," California Republican Party spokesperson Hector Barajas said in a statement to CNN.
The party made their intentions clear in a letter to the California Secretary of State on Wednesday. In the letter, attorneys for the state GOP say all of the ballot boxes deployed by the party are indoors, staffed by volunteers or party officials, secure and not labeled "official."

And then see if this came from higher up. Then, go after the national GOP for starting this. You can be locked up for conspiracy to commit a felony. I agree that this needs a very rigorous response. Probably won't happen, but it really needs one.

If that were true we wouldn't be having this discussion, now would we? Plus there's the little matter of explaining the photos of outdoor unattended boxes labeled "official" posted by the state GOP themselves...

1) If they don't turn over the ballots or if they open or alter them, they will all go to jail.
2) This makes them look like cartoon villains. Which they are.
3) This is the act of a desperate stub of an almost-extinct party that once ruled California and now languishes unheard and powerless in the increasingly Democratic Supermajority stronghold of California. These tactics are guaranteed to backfire with the public and accelerate the trend. They will never recover.
4) "I'm going to steal ballots -- can we reach some sort of compromise now?" Chortle.

Doom doom doom for them. And the Harbinger of their Future.

One can't tell a GOP marked ballot from a Dem on the exterior so they're not safe destroying them all. They could put them in heavily Dem areas and shit can those I guess but they're still not a guaranteed a net gain plus then they are seriously breaking the law should they be caught and one would hope they would assume they were being monitored for just such a possibility too given their attitude and openness about doing this.

Also, they putting them in Orange County too.

Unless they are opening the ballots to destroy the ones voting Dem but that would take some balls and how could they get them counted if they were opened? There are local and state reps in areas the pukes can win but no way are they going to cause Cali to go for Trump with this tactic.

I don't get this but they do need to be arrested, prosecuted, heavily fined and then sued out of existence in civil like the KKK and other hate groups have been. The GOP has turned into a criminal organization and with a Democratic majority in Congress they might could be ended like the old Mafia was.

I don't like that term.

The boxes are not marked as rethuglican. They look kind of like trash cans, so I hope they are having to sort through garbage.

There should be no going to court over this. Its a federal crime. Arrest Mr. Barajas. If they get by with this, they'll be going up elsewhere too.
