Poll: Biden Takes Double-Digit Lead Over Trump

With less than three weeks to go until Election Day, Democrat Joe Biden has taken a double-digit lead over President Trump, according to the latest NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist poll.

The former vice president leads Trump 54% to 43% among likely voters in the poll. It's the highest level of support Biden has achieved since the poll began testing the head-to-head matchup in February. Biden has never been below 50% in the question in the Marist poll, and Trump has never been above 44%.

Trump won 46% of voters in 2016 nationally, but it was enough for him to squeeze out a victory in the states key to the Electoral College. Biden has pulled ahead in several key states, including Wisconsin, Michigan and Pennsylvania, which were crucial to Trump's victory in 2016. But Trump is within striking distance.

Biden continues to have an advantage with Black voters, Latinos, whites with a college degree, women, people who live in cities and suburbs, young voters and independents.

so we have to GOTV. However women, independents, 'burbs people are for Biden. And for whatever reason that I still don't understand, HRC had negative baggage. It wasn't emails and Benghazi, it ran deeper and longer back than that. I think Gingrich-era GOP bred hatred of her as First Lady with her health care initiative. It was carpet bombed hatred.

We registered voters en masse in 2018; that's how we flipped the House (and state houses around the country). Pukes are now struggling to catch up. We already signed up most people available to our side.

but she did specifically mention that as far as the increased uneducated white male registrations, 'that's where Trump's campaign money went'. So we'll see. I'm sure he can move the needle, but he's massively behind and polls aren't votes.

12. What if MAGAts, when polled, have a whisper campaign among themselves, to skew the poll

toward Biden to spread overconfidence and depress Democratic turnout? It's too hard to vote anyway. They are all on a massive vote suppression mission. So take Pennsylvania. They register an additional 85,000 MAGAts. They vote. They inhibit the USPS, and make lines long, and create overconfidence. 7% is not a big enough lead in that scenario. Don't forget, say what you want about Trump, he's devious and aggressive. Barr is in New Mexico today. No one has said why. What better place to work against PA and NC and WI and MN than NM? No one would suspect it. We're in for a fight for democracy.

How confident are Republicans? Lindsey solicited campaign contributions in Congress. So he doesn't think that'll be a problem.

14. Don't underestimate small town ethnic populations of long duration

They never move. Medical researchers go there to study dietary genetics. From 1900 Brooklyn to 2020 Podunk, they're still in contact with extended cousins, classmates, co-workers, and friends. They're lawyers, and doctors and state contractors and factory workers now. If you wanted to raise 4,000 of them to do something, all you have to do is pick up the phone and grapevine. Throw campaign signs at them and they're plastered in 24 hours. Because cousin Sophie says so, and she talks faster than KAC.

Hope I'm wrong. It may be a description of what happened more in 2016, but they're still out there.
