Whitmer: Trump inciting 'domestic terrorism'

Source: The Hill

Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) on Sunday accused President Trump of inciting "domestic terrorism" in the wake of an alleged plot to abduct her.

"It's incredibly disturbing that the president of the United States, 10 days after a plot to kidnap, put me on trial, and execute me ... is at it again ... inciting this kind of domestic terrorism," Whitmer said on NBC's "Meet the Press," the day after the president held a rally during which participants chanted "Lock her up" when he mentioned her.

"It is dangerous, not just for me and my family, but for public servants everywhere who are doing their jobs and trying to protect their fellow Americans. People of good will on both sides of the aisle need to step up and call this out and bring the heat down," she added. "This is the United States of America. We do not tolerate actions like he is giving comfort to. And that's why we all have to be in this together."

Whitmer also pointed out that Michigan has not been under a stay-at-home order in months, and accused the president of fomenting violence as a distraction from the federal handling of the coronavirus.

It is past time to start calling these armed right wing zealots what they are, which are terrorists.

Terrorism is defined in the Code of Federal Regulations as “the unlawful use of force and violence against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives” (28 C.F.R. Section 0.85).

Last topic of the evening. This is all teed up for Joe, but more than that, Trump’s footsie games with domestic terrorists are the worst thing on the very long list of appalling things about him. I hope Joe goes there and doesn’t stop until the shitstain begs the moderator for help.

I fear that firstly, he will incite violence in the 2 month buffer. But then, continuing on all during Biden's first term (if elected). This is why he must be prosecuted immediately after the handover. I still think he would engage with and lord over his cult followers even from a jail cell. I can only imagine the esteemed treatment he'd get from the white supremacist gangs. But it would definitely dampen his support down to the truly lost maniacs who can ignore his convictions and/or dismiss them as "fake" charges.

But it won't be over. I know its enticing to think that come Jan 1st, we will all be rid of the orange baboon, but he will continue to create his Trump brown shirt army. And if we are not diligent, or the new Biden Presidency (if he wins) makes the grave mistake of "moving forward" and ignoring Trump's crimes, and his children's, we may see him run again in 2024. His campaign fed by more conspiracy theories from QAnon and Fox News, and Putin. And from the, predictable, non stop smear campaign against the new President.

The idiot in the White House is inciting violence against a Popular woman governor in a state he won in 2016. How is that going to gain votes for him?
