In an interview on Friday with the editorial board of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram, Mr. Cornyn compared his relationship with Mr. Trump to marriage and said that getting the president to mend his ways was futile.
He described the dynamic as maybe like a lot of women who get married and think theyre going to change their spouse, and that doesnt usually work out very well.
Mr. Cornyn said that he has avoided public spats with Mr. Trump, in contrast with some of his Republican colleagues who have crossed the president.

(34,852 posts)It started with sponsoring a bill to make Juneteenth a federal holiday. Now he's got Royce West kinda on his side. Then he has these commercials with Jenna's law (pandering to women)
I just think he wants to win. I don't think his internals are bad

(15,857 posts)I think hes seeing Trump losing Texas, not necessarily himself.
Hegar is strong, but I dont know if she can beat Cornyn, who is the better liked of Texas two senators. Maybe if there is a blue wave she can ride it to victory. Either way, he needs daylight between himself and Trump and I am here for it.

(34,852 posts)Cornyn is a slick campaigner.
I think he's looking at the senate and realizes they may no longer have a majority after this election.

(11,885 posts)Then ignored the rule of law by refusing to convict this criminal. He knew better , yet did it anyway. Cornyn needs to go with trump , and voted out of office with all other trump loyalist that help enable him, and hurt this country.
