(15,325 posts)..."Taking away American's health care."
When he puts that one reason behind it, it affects all voters.
Especially as we are buried in a pandemic.
His emphasis on healthcare now lands it back in the laps of all Repub Senators who are facing re-election in just a couple werks.
Healthcare & as it relates to COVID, is the #1 issue considered by a majority of voters.
This is as best as Schumer could do with the SC confirmation.
Make the argument about Losing Your Healthcare, your pre-existing conditions, all to be lost by the GOP SC. And do it just 2 weeks before the election

(42,700 posts)Over 300 judges have been the recipients of recess appointments. Eisenhower used the recess appointment power to put three justices on the Court: Earl Warren (Chief Justice) and William Brennan and Potter Stewart.

(19,956 posts)to shoot down the ACA, won't that just play into Democrats hands ? Not all of the 25m ACA people are Democrats... potentially half are Republican, so that the Dems would have a free hand to build back better, even calling an expanded version with public option, the Barack Obama Health care act ! And there would be so much revulsion that it would be a perfect reason to reshape the Supreme court.

(67,782 posts)This has still not been picked up by any news outlet. The Senate is now voting to table the motion to adjourn.
From C-Span:
"Vote to table, or kill, a motion to adjourn until November 9th; Would return only for votes on cornoavirus economic aid"
