Wisconsin Judge Restores Restrictions on Bars, Restaurants Amid Surge in Covid-19

A Wisconsin judge put back in place statewide restrictions on bars, restaurants and other indoor spaces that had been temporarily suspended last week as the state faced rising cases of Covid-19.

Barron County Circuit Court Judge James C. Babler denied a request to extend the temporary injunction issued by a Sawyer County judge last Wednesday that put on hold an emergency order issued by the administration of Gov. Tony Evers. The 28-day order, which limits gatherings in public places to 25% of the capacity of a room or building, is now back in place for another 20 days. A lawyer for the Tavern League of Wisconsin, a group representing bars, restaurants and other licensed liquor retailers, said he planned to appeal the ruling.

“We are obviously disappointed in the ruling and the catastrophic effects it will continue to have on small businesses across Wisconsin,” said Tavern League President Chris Marsicano.

The judge said that there was no indication in court filings that bars and restaurants were complying with the capacity limits, which had only been in place for a few days, so he said it was unclear whether they were being hurt by the rule—an important factor in issuing a temporary restraining order.

They bitch and moan about temporary Covid restrictions hurting them, yet fail to realize that by flaunting the restrictions they're making the pain last longer. If the country as a whole had stuck to restrictions and guidelines when this thing started we'd be in a hell of a lot better place right now, and the blame for that rests squarely on tRump's shoulders. As it is now President Biden is going to have a hell of a time corralling this pandemic because all the tRumpers have been conditioned by their dear leader to defy anything that's for the common good.

3. The majority of people in Wisconsin are Democrats.

But we do have more than our share right wingers. And not old timey, sort of normal right wingers. We have the nastiest, most rabid, hateful, profoundly stupid, religiously insane wingers You could find anywhere.

In my old age I have concluded that Joe McCarthy was not an aberration in Wisconsin. Not at all. He was a notorious alcoholic, racist and bigoted asshole like the ones we see here today, that are anti-BLM, mask-holes, challenging our mask laws and social distancing, and being all around schmucks.

They aren’t the majority here, just the loudest and Breitbartiest. And they will lose.

We're mostly liberal. But the people who support Trump here are not only classless, self-loathing blue state haters, they are some seriously stupid, petty, hateful, spiteful people. And these assholes are everywhere.

Hell, my hometown made the news a couple of weeks ago when Trump fans started fighting with a Black Lives Matter rally, only for it to end with a car driving through both rallies.
