Graham wants to review ActBlue's source of small-dollar contributions
Source: The Hill
Graham says that Congress has little idea whos behind the huge inflows of money that have given his opponent, Jaime Harrison, and other Democratic challengers a major fundraising advantage over GOP incumbents in the final weeks of the campaign.
Wheres all this money coming from ActBlue coming from? How easy would it be to just have a bunch of pre-paid credit cards? he asked The Hill.
...snip...
An ActBlue spokesperson said the group reports even its smallest donations to the Federal Election Commission (FEC), which oversees fundraising for federal campaigns.

(8,200 posts)I was only a child during WWII but I vividly remember the news reports at the movies my mom and I often attended. The pictures of Hitler raving and ranting and the crowd's adulation are being replayed in my mind when I see the Trump campaign rallies. It a phenomena that I never dreamed I would see reenacted during my lifetime. The mobs screaming Heil Hitler and giving the Nazi salute to a murderous dictator and the films of the bellicose Mussolini and his sycophants was something I believed would never se repeated in my lifetime or ever for that matter.
How wrong I was. The only difference is that I don't have to go to the movies to see it. I can see this monstrosity that I thought would never come to my beloved nation happen right in my living room day after day.

(11,518 posts)I never could quite grasp the phenomenon that led to Hitler's ascension to power. Now, sadly, I understand. And while I want to believe in our election system there's still this nagging doubt in the back of my mind that tRump has something up his sleeve (could his rush to force through a Supreme Court justice friendly to him have something to do with this?).
And as to Lindsey Graham..... if he really wants to look into campaign contributions he's a far bigger fool than I imagined.

(8,200 posts)Trump is a master of this tactic. His major scapegoats were the South American immigrates who were desperate to escape their man-made hell. In actuality what they wanted to escape is exactly what he wants to create. I society in which the rich and powerful rule with an iron hand. As for Linsey Graham, he has the spine of a jelly fish and the soul of a cretin. A typical bootlicking Republican.

That is what republicans do, they deal in perceptions and distractions, not reality. Too bad they can't apply all that imitative into actual legislation, that would benefit their constituents instead of the contributors of dark money to their campaigns.
The years of republican corruption appears to be unraveling.

My question is, where is all that money coming from that feeds the RNC's "dark money" PACs? Russia perhaps?
You see, whenever they say stuff like this, they are actually the ones guilty of what they assert because they know that their own fundraising has illegal contributions in it, and that prompts them to immediately "project" their own criminal operations onto their opposition to try to deflect attention. But all that does is eventually call attention to themselves. Every. Single. Time.

Senator Lindsey Graham has been accused of illegally soliciting donations to his campaign after a statement to the press following Tuesday's confirmation hearings for Supreme Court nominee Amy Coney Barrett.
The South Carolina senator, who is a Republican and staunch ally of President Donald Trump, made a fresh plea for donations at the Capitol as he fights a close race with Democrat Jaime Harrison.
His critics were quick to point out that soliciting campaign donations on federal property is illegal. Graham has called for supporters to give to his re-election effort during previous media appearances.
...
Many social media users also said Graham had broken the law and pointed to 18 U.S. Code § 607, which says, in part : "It shall be unlawful for an individual who is an officer or employee of the Federal Government, including the President, Vice President, and Members of Congress, to solicit or receive a donation of money or other thing of value in connection with a Federal, State, or local election, while in any room or building occupied in the discharge of official duties by an officer or employee of the United States, from any person."

They have been using this tactic a long time. The biggest one was the Bill Clinton "lying" to a grand jury about a sexual dalliance.
Benghazi. Emails. whatever they can scrape even the smallest amount of dirt. They gather it all up, add a lot of their own manure to it, mix it with water into mud and throw it at the wall over and over (Benghazi had 11 investigations/hearings) until the old adage, where there's smoke there must be some kind of fire, works. Especially if their water carriers in the TV, radio, and internet help push it 24/7.
No different here. Fox will take this baton like every other one offered, and expand it and make it look like its a very very very serious crime going unnoticed. And being suppressed by the Deep State of course.
