Texas Supreme Court temporarily reinstates governor's ban on additional ballot drop boxes in state

Source: The Hill

The Texas Supreme Court on Saturday temporarily reinstated Gov. Greg Abbott’s (R) ban blocking multiple mail-in ballot drop off sites per county, in a win for Republicans in the state, according to multiple reports.

The ban will be reinstated across the Lone Star State as the court reviews a Friday appeals court ruling blocking Abbott's order.

The Texas 3rd Court of Appeals unanimously upheld a ruling that limiting the drop-off locations would lengthen lines and could pose a risk to voters amid the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The state Supreme Court is reviewing whether to take action in the case and ordered both sides involved in the case to file their responses by Monday at 5 p.m., The Dallas Morning News reported. There will be just one week until Election Day by the deadline.

Seriously, the endless shifting decisions are going to leave voters (and election officials) completely confused.

they use the law to defend those who put them on the bench.

Abbie Hoffmann was right: political rulings. Not just civil and criminal.

They will become the legal norm if we don't win.

You should see who their donors are! BIG $$$$$!!!!

The TX SC and the 5th Circuit Court of Appeals both rule in favor of corporations over individuals over 90% of the time.

5. Because of Trump and DeJoy, no one trusts the mail to get ballots in on time.

But that early warning means that people got their ballots early and started returning them right away. And the numbers of people voting in person is truly promising, especially in major Democratic areas like Houston, Dallas, and Austin. I won’t be surprised if Trump pulls out a win here because rural Texas and most of East Texas is ruby red, but I think the margin will be very small if he does win. That bodes well for 2022 when we can finally get rid of Abbott. But I’m still holding out hope that 2020 is the year for Texas to turn blue!

I wonder if the polls under sample and/or underweight young voters in that 20-29 age group that seems to be voting this year, at least so far.
