Dr. Anthony Fauci has been reluctant to support a federal mask mandate.

"Well, if people are not wearing masks, then maybe we should be mandating it," Fauci told CNN's Erin Burnett Friday.

Covid-19 has been worsening across the United States, with cases rising in 32 states Friday and holding steady in 17 more. The University of Washington's Institute for Health Metrics and Evaluation said the country was entering a winter surge as new infections passed 75,000 in a single day on Friday and more than 800 deaths were reported.

It's so frustrating to go to grocery stores, other public places, and see trumpers without masks. The same people who attend his hate/COVID rallies, now spreading it to us. Those idiots need to be told to mask up or leave the area, period. There is no other way to get them to wear them; they don't care about other people. Well, they are MAGAts, what would we expect?

6. I was wearing a mask before my state mandated it...

I believe in them and hope President Biden does everything in his power to mandate them.

I went to the grocery store today and faithfully wore my mask the whole time...fogged up glasses and all.

As I left the store and got about 50 feet outside the door and into the parking lot and well away from anyone else, I removed my mask. (My M.O. is to remove my mask as soon as I'm outdoors and away from anyone else.) Just as I got it removed, this old gal promptly told me I needed to leave it on until I got to my car. She was at least 10 feet from me. I was somewhat taken aback, but being the nonconfrontational type I just said, "oh, I'm sorry!" And scuttled to my car but didn't remask. After I got to my car, I was disappointed in myself for not telling the bitch to mind her own business. It really pissed me off...but not fast enough to set her straight.

Did I do anything wrong? My view is if I'm outside and no one is near, I take my mask off. And if I see someone being careless with mask wearing, it would have to be pretty bad for me to say anything.

but if I see someone passing close by, I put it back on. I see it as being courteous to others, whether or not they follow through.

18. I've been very diligent with my mask...

I work in a building with about 2k. I attended the Players Championship in March in Jacksonville, Fl. In mid-July, I attended a NASCAR race with about 25k fans in Ft. Worth. I flew to Jacksonville, FL and back in early October, and went to a few bars and restaurants. Last weekend, I went to Kansas City for another NASCAR race with about 10K fans. And ate out a couple times while there. I went to church this morning with about 100 other congregants. In nearly all instances, I was wearing a mask and was maintaining distance. Living has been nice. If I end up, as you suggest, hearing my doctor say "Son, you took your mask off", I will be sad to hear it, and I'll be able to blame no one but myself. But...I'll likely live after spending a couple days feeling off-colour.

But, I do wear my mask primarily to protect others.
