Bloomberg Funds Last-Minute Advertising Blitz for Biden in Texas and Ohio
Source: New York Times
A political adviser to Mr. Bloomberg said the billionaire former mayor of New York City would use his super PAC, Independence USA, to air intensive ad campaigns in all television markets in both states. The cost of the two-state campaign is expected to total around $15 million.
The decision by Mr. Bloomberg reflects just how much the electoral landscape appears to have shifted in the final few months of the presidential race, as Mr. Trumps mismanagement of the coronavirus pandemic has intensified his unpopularity and further alienated crucial voting groups like women and suburbanites.
Mr. Bidens campaign has treated Ohio as a competitive battleground for some time, even though Mr. Trump carried it by a wide margin in 2016, and more recently, the Democratic ticket has been putting some time and money into Texas. Senator Kamala Harris of California, Mr. Bidens running mate, is planning to visit the state on Friday.

Remember when the armchair campaign managers were irate because he wasn't spending his money in the dead of August?

(11,203 posts)Jones' seat can't be saved. He won last time due to a perfect storm of a terrible GOP candidate who was a pedophile and was generally considered creepy by all women in the state.
Tommy Tuberville is vile and a true moron. But, he is a former Auburn coach who loves Trump and is militantly anti-choice. Alabamians love their college football and think killing babies is the only thing the Dems want to do. We have a lot of very unintelligent voters in the state. Tubs is up +14 in the state. There is no chance for a Jones victory and I, for one, don't want to see any national money wasted on this hell scape of a state.
Abandon Alabama. We will be the last to have the Trumpist party ripped from our cold dead hands. We are the king of fools.

(13,892 posts)And not only for the presidential race, there are two very competitive Senate seats up for grabs in Georgia and they would be HUGE prizes. We may not get another chance like we have now to flip Georgia's Senate seats.

(459 posts)But at this stage I feel that money is better spent on GOTV mobilization in the key states and helping low income/lack of transportation voters get a ride to clerks offices for ballot drop off or to their polling place.
