Biden rips Trump for stranding supporters after Omaha rally

Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden on Wednesday condemned President Donald Trumps campaign for stranding supporters in freezing temperatures following a rally the previous evening arguing that the episode was emblematic of the White Houses failed pandemic response.
The remarks from the former vice president came during an address in his hometown of Wilmington, Del., on the day after hundreds of people who showed up for Trumps rally Tuesday night in Omaha, Neb., were left waiting for buses to transport them from the event site at Eppley Airfield back to their cars parked several miles away.
Some Trump supporters were forced to endure the frigid conditions into early Wednesday morning, and local law enforcement reported that six people were taken to local hospitals, according to The Omaha World-Herald. Trump said at the rally that 29,000 people were in the audience.
On Wednesday afternoon, Biden lamented that the rally attendees, including older Americans and children, were stranded in sub-zero freezing temperatures for hours, adding that it
captures President Trumps whole approach in this crisis.

Good for Biden to call out Trump on his disregard for even his most loyal supporters.
This is so typical of Trump. He holds these rallies designed to appease his ego, then leaves everyone to pick up his mess whether it be unpaid bills or dealing with the fallout of a surge in COVID cases.

TUCSON (KVOA) - Tucson Mayor Regina Romero asked President Donald Trump to reimburse the city for unpaid costs he owes Tucson taxpayers from his last campaign stop in 2016 in a memo released Friday.
As N4T Investigators first reported four years ago, records show the 2016 "Trump for President" campaign owes the city nearly $82,000 in taxpayer dollars. These dollars were used to pay local police to work as security for the rally at the Tucson Convention Center in March 2016.
In a letter sent out to the president ahead of Monday's campaign stop in the Old Pueblo, Romero shared a "friendly reminder" that Trump owes Tucson taxpayers $80,000 from his last visit. In addition, the mayor said she projects that this current visit could cost the city an additional $50,000.
"Ensuring the security of this event and of the President of the United States is our utmost priority and we are happy to provide any support you may need during your visit," the mayor said in the letter. "Since this is a campaign event, we respectfully request that you reimburse the city and its taxpayers for these expenses."
