Trump Reportedly Telling Advisers Hes Increasingly Spooked at the Prospect of Being Indicted if He Loses
Nov 2nd, 2020, 3:50 pm
President Donald Trump is reportedly telling his advisers that he is becoming increasingly nervous about the fact that he could be indicted if he loses the election on Tuesday.
Trump is currently protected from indictment under all federal laws because hes president, but if he loses, that would all change.
Trump has gone through great lengths to avoid releasing his taxes, leaving him vulnerable to being indicted for tax fraud. Cyrus Vance Jr., the district attorney for Manhattan, is also probing the possibility that Trump has provided insurers with false information regarding his financial position in order to receive lower premiums and interest rates on loans...........................
Despite being publicly optimistic about the results, the president has told his advisers that he expects to be investigated by prosecutors if he loses, according to The New York Times. He is nervous about both existing investigations and of new federal probes post Election Day..........

His luck is running out. If he had been born poor, he would be either dead or in jail. NO one would put up with his shit.

(17,335 posts)pardon himself or resign shortly before the Inauguration and have Pence pardon him. That solves two problems. First, the federal govt won't be able to prosecute him and second, he won't have to attend the inauguration.

regnaD kciN
(27,543 posts)...because Trump, if he loses, might step down early so that President Pence can issue him a blanket pardon. And, yes, while that theoretically doesnt cover state crimes, I wouldnt count on the current SCOTUS not expanding that in this particular case.

(13,632 posts)I don't exactly see how even the Supreme Court could justify interfering with state legal systems, but tRump is a cornered rat and he'll try anything that he thinks has a chance of keeping his ass out of prison.
AND, as to Biden being #47, I've been saying that's a possibility also. And is THIS the reason he's putting up fences around the White House?

I also expect him to maneuver to have Mar-a-Lago converted to the donald trump pResidential "library." Then he can essentially maintain "ownership" while not having to pay anything for anything. Including taxes. That's on the American taxpayer and whatever stupid-ass "foundations" are set up to "raise money" for the lavish rebuild, renovations, updated security entryway, facilities and guest amenities and gift shops, building extensions, and parking lots.

(17,459 posts)That is some nasty, monstrous thinking you've got going on there - especially the "pResidential Library" part.
Every time somebody puts out some OTHER way he's gonna' screw us over it gets me depressed and I go into the basement, grab my blankie, get into the rocker, and start my mantra:

(89,294 posts)He'll dismiss it as another "hoax" and more "fake news." And he'll try to force the project ahead ANYWAY. Unless he decides to convert trump Tower into his "pResidential library."
I just in general expect from him the OPPOSITE of behavior that can be described as "patriotic," "truthful," "sincere," "selfless," "humble," "honorable," "generous," "genuine," "honest," "compassionate," "intelligent," "informed," "responsible," "trustworthy," "courageous," "reliable," "knowledgeable," "circumspect," "reassuring," "inspiring," and on and on and on...
Whatever it is that I was taught as a kid to do or not to do, I expect to see trump do the OPPOSITE. Or say the OPPOSITE. Or embody the OPPOSITE. A valid rule of thumb since 2015.

(7,720 posts)When I was younger,
so much younger than today,
Way back in 2016 told lies big and small,
With gay abandon,
And it felt great!
The great unwashed heard my lies,
And ate them up,
Not knowing, not caring
That lies aren't the truth.
Now hear my lament,
Oh you Gods of the Universe,
My lies have been found,
My followers upset,
And when I go to bed
I fear the Retribution
Surely coming my way!
My vengeful tweets at 3 am
Bring no joy,
Like they did before.
My golden hands
Turned everything to dust.

Now he's going to pardon himself just to torture the Constitution again. Sure, it won't help him with state charges, but imagine all the evil shit he's going to get away with.
Then he'll go to New York prison where he will die.

(7,720 posts)It's worse than that.
He thought that the Title of POTUS would endow him with the charisma of an Obama, the intelligence of a JFK, the collective leadership skills of all previous presidents.
All he had to do, he thought, is sit in THAT chair in THAT office, and everything would flow naturally onto his shoulders.
And no one would notice he was pilfering the public purse at the same time.
Delusional fool is delusional. Always was, is currently, always will be.

It's the following days that will be fascinating as later returns (which he will challenge and be laughed out of court) start to come in.

I think the worst mistake Trump ever made was running for president in 2916, If he wouldn't have done that, people wouldn't now be looking at his business practices. He could have stayed under the radar and possibly escaped prosecution for his numerous frauds. But now? The guy has pissed off so many people, we are looking for reasons to throw him in prison for the rest of his life - and as big a crook as Trump is, they won't be hard to find.
