GM puts pandemic in rearview mirror, sales boom in US, China

DETROIT (AP) General Motors is posting huge third quarter numbers, pulling in $4 billion in profit over three months after losing money due to the virus outbreak.
GMs adjusted earnings were $2.83 per share, easily outpacing Wall Streets per-share projections of $1.43, according to a survey by FactSet.
Revenue of $35.5 billion also edged out most expectations.
Shares jumped almost 6% before the opening bell Thursday.

(54,330 posts)With Corona encouraging people to seek out modes of transportation that do NOT involve being packed together like sardines, if the airlines are reducing flights to pack the planes they are still flying, and maybe the bus companies doing the same, and public transportation like subways and local buses not offering enough distance to feel safe, especially from mask-less miscreants, I find it perfectly believable that sales of new personal cars are up.

Also, we got thousands more for our trade in than Kelly Blue Book.
They said they can not keep decent used vehicles on the lot.
