Arkansas police chief resigns after calling for violence against Democrats

Source: CNN

(CNN)An Arkansas police chief who posted calls for violence against Democrats on social media resigned from his job on Saturday.

Lang Holland, who was police chief of the roughly 1,300-person city of Marshall, Arkansas, drew outrage from both local residents and people around the country after making ominous comments online in recent days. In addition to repeatedly saying Democrats should be killed, he shared memes from conspiracy theory QAnon and claimed that the election was being stolen.
"Death to all Marxist Democrats," Holland posted on Parler, a new social media site popular with conservatives and used as an alternative to Twitter. "Take no prisoners leave no survivors!!"
One image he shared depicted a group of Democrats, including Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama, wearing prison jumpsuits. Under the image he wrote: "I pray all those in that picture hang on the gallows and are drawn and quartered!!!! Anything less is not acceptable."

FLOMATON, Ala. -- A Flomaton Police Captain resigned from his position Friday morning following a controversial Facebook post earlier this week.

Flomaton Mayor Dewey Bondurant confirmed Scott Walden's resignation.

He was placed on paid administrative leave Thursday after the police department opened an internal investigation into the social media post that morning.

Walden allegedly reacted to a post critical of people who voted for Joe Biden, saying “they need to line up every one of them and put a bullet in their skull for treason.”

And yet, we are supposed to cozy up to these people and sing Kumbaya? I don't think so.

How are these not terroristic threats?
We're 100% sure these guys have at least one gun. And, they're promoting people being shot.
It seems to meet the definition:

Generally, a terroristic threat "is sufficiently specific where it threatens death or great bodily injury, and a threat is not insufficient simply because it does not communicate a time or precise manner of execution. Thus, a criminal statute prohibiting terroristic threatening serves to criminalize future, as well as present, death threats."[3]

The courts have held that "a threat need not take any particular form or be expressed in any particular words, and may be made by innuendo or suggestion, and that the words uttered will not be considered in a vacuum but rather in light of all the circumstances."[4] A number of courts have upheld convictions under a state criminal terroristic threat statute on the basis of a single or solitary threat,[5] a conditional threat,[6] or a threat that some third person will take action.[7] In several states, courts have held that a "threatener's present inability to carry out his or her threats does not in itself remove the threats from the purview of terroristic threat or terroristic threatening statutes."[8] However, "the courts recognized that one does not violate a terroristic threat or terroristic threatening statute by making idle talk or jests which do not have a reasonable tendency to create apprehension that the speaker will act according to the threat."[9]

I want the surrender of his peace officer's certification and an agreement to never seek another. A man like this will just drive to the next town over and get another policing job. I never want this man in a police uniform again as long as he lives.

I'd rather be hung first, then they can draw and quarter my body...

Seriously, this guy should not be a police chief, should not be on the street if he's saying stuff like this. He needs help.

As to Parler, Wiki says it "is a United States-based microblogging and social networking service launched in August 2018. Parler has a significant user base of Trump supporters, conservatives, and Saudi nationalists. Posts on the website often contain far-right content, antisemitism, and conspiracy theories. The site has been described as an alternative to Twitter, and is popular among people who have been banned from mainstream social networks or oppose their moderation policies. The site markets itself as a "free speech" and unbiased alternative to mainstream social networks such as Twitter and Facebook. As of July 2020, the site had 2.8 million users, many of whom joined in mid-2020."

So there you have it - yet another hate-site.

There's Steve Bannon's reference to having heads on pikes. Among the heads Bannon would like to see in grisly display: The one belonging to Anthony Fauci, director of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
