(5,586 posts)The law says for a ballot to count, it must be received before 5:00 pm on election day, and that any ballots obtained after that time and date are treated as spoiled ballots and not counted.
The PA Supreme Court ruled that any ballots received before the end of Friday would count (which was several days after the cut-off proscribed by the law). The GOP / Trump thinks that Trump would win the state if ballots received after COB on election day were counted as spoiled.

(33,997 posts)This PA case is a very technical issue about absentee ballots.
Republicans allege that the voter's address has to be added by hand in a certain location. These ballots were identifiable, but the address was not where they claim the law requires it to be.

There were 562 ballots that were identifiable by marks on the outer envelopes, but the identifying marks weren't where Republicans say that the law requires them to be. So the acknowledgement of no fraud is a nice bonus, but legally irrelevant because fraud was not alleged in the case.
