Minnesota GOP sent virus alert only to its side of the aisle

Source: Star Tribune

Some Republicans tested positive, but no DFLers were told before session.

November 14, 2020 — 2:40pm

A day after it was revealed that GOP state Sen. Dave Senjem tested positive for COVID-19 after attending a Nov. 5 party caucus, news broke that Republican senators and staffers were informed in a Tuesday memo that “a number of [GOP Senate] members and staff have been diagnosed with COVID-19.”

DFLers were not informed of the rash of cases on the other side of the aisle.

In the memo, Craig Sondag, the Senate Republican chief of staff, declined to reveal the names of the infected, citing a balance between the infected people’s right to privacy and the need of their contacts to know they had been exposed. He instructed all GOP Senate staffers to work from home, including during Thursday’s special session.

The news that GOP senators and staffers were warned that COVID was spreading in their ranks but DFLers were not was met with distress late Friday.

“It is outrageous and completely unacceptable that Senate DFLers were not notified of the recent COVID-19 outbreak among Senate Republicans prior to Thursday’s floor session,” Senate Minority Leader Susan Kent, DFL-Woodbury, said in a statement. “This lack of transparency is a blatant disregard for the health and safety of others: our DFL and nonpartisan staff, members, and the communities we go home to.”

From cdc.gov:

HIV and STD Criminal Laws
During the early years of the HIV epidemic, many states implemented HIV-specific criminal exposure laws (statutes and regulations). Some of these state laws criminalize behaviors that cannot transmit HIV and apply regardless of actual transmission. As of 2020, 37 states have laws that criminalize HIV exposure.

Exposure to anything in their environments. I would put nothing past these people

And am proven right by this news.

I usually really enjoy being right; it’s a character flaw. I am not enjoying this instance at all.

and WILLFUL ENDAGERMENT by the political right to
deny life saving information for those on the LEFT.

The republicans conscience decision not to inform the left, fellow
humans, one and all, from knowing, as an example, that the
Reich Wing Proud Boys had laid landmines in the Democratic
parking lot at the State House.

I am just surprised the Right didn't set-up lawn chairs circling the
Democratic Parking Lot along with Smores fire pits and burning
democratic effigies.

Announced he has tested positive.

He wasn't at that session but maybe there is something to this karma...
