Karl Rove to helm massive GOP fundraising drive for Georgia runoffs
Source: Politico
Senate Republicans have tapped Karl Rove to oversee their fundraising program for the Georgia runoff elections, according to a person familiar with the effort.
The former George W. Bush adviser will serve as national finance chairman for the Georgia Battleground Fund, a joint fundraising account formed by the National Republican Senatorial Committee that will benefit Republican Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. The Jan. 5 runoffs in Georgia will determine which party controls the Senate next year.
The Georgia contests have become a focal point for both parties. Outside groups have begun to spend heavily and potential future presidential hopefuls, such as Florida Sens. Marco Rubio and Rick Scott, are hitting the trail for the Republican candidates. Vice President Mike Pence is slated to travel to Georgia later this week.
People involved in the campaigns say its likely that the parties will spend hundreds of millions of dollars in Georgia over the next two months. Loeffler is facing pastor Raphael Warnock, while Perdue is trying to beat back a challenge from documentary filmmaker Jon Ossoff.

Turd Blossom was helping Trump out and you saw how successful that was. Let's hope his streak continues.

(36,457 posts)that might actually clean up the giant turd that Trump & the GOP have taken on the country. Then, the media will parrot the GOP and call us the do nothing dems over & over again, never once pointing out that McConnell himself is the bottleneck. In the meantime, the repub base will get fired up for 2022 & 2024 & if the dems can't get any meaningful legislation passed, a lot of people who never voted until 2020 may become disillusioned & not show up at the polls because they will (mistakenly) believe that the two parties are basically the same, or that voting doesn't make a difference. We lost seats this time. We could lose the House next time.
We need those two senate seats & then the dems need to go BOLD!

(8,810 posts)the turning point for the future of our country........
Some of us on DU recognized long ago, that the focus should be on the RepubliCON Senators up for re-election..........
Without Republicans controlling the Senate, Trump would evaporate in a day or two........
If we had control of the Senate in 2016, Trump would have been long gone in short order.
If the RepubliCONs keep control of the Senate, they will go all out to obstruct anything and everything Biden tries to accomplish, the same as the successfully did with the Obama administration.
You can bet your sweet ass that the RepubliCON donors are going to send an un-precedented amount of cash to the Georgia Republican Senators......They are going for broke and damn well know it.........

(3,386 posts)I have to think that their base is the most ignorant in the country, for them to not understand that the judges republicans want to appoint are going to screw their lives and still vote for republicans shows the capacity they have to rationalize.
Maybe Rove is not the mastermind he was, but maybe he can congratulate them for being so ignorant and uneducated, just like trump did in one of his rallies, and they will go nuts, they will want to vote right away.
All he has to say is socialists democrats are going to take away your guns, period.
Stacey Abrams seems to be doing a great job in Georgia, so lets hope she can do it.
Someone posted about making an easy $1,200.00...Just vote in Georgia for the two Democrats and the Democrats will get the stimulus done, you will get your $1,200.00 in the mail, the republicans will not do that for you. That should be a good one...

(13,919 posts)I suspect most of us are aware of at least some of the dirty crap this individual has been apparently involved in.
But we(or at least our elected dems) let it all go. No prosecutions, no exposing all the stuff former administrations have pulled.
Biden needs to end the streak of crony politics that always covers the rear of everyone who came before. Expose all the dirty dealing and questionable actions of EVERY previous administration, let loose the prosecutors, and let the court cases fully shake out in the courts, legal and public opinion.
