Michelle Obama Called Out Donald and Melania Trump For Blocking Biden's Transition

Source: BuzzFeed News

Former first lady Michelle Obama excoriated President Donald Trump and first lady Melania Trump for refusing to behave "maturely" and blocking the smooth transition of power to President-elect Joe Biden.

In a lengthy Instagram post on Monday, Obama wrote about how she welcomed Donald and Melania Trump to the White House in 2016 despite the fact that he had "spread racist lies about my husband that had put my family in danger."

"That wasn’t something I was ready to forgive," Obama said. "But I knew that, for the sake of our country, I had to find the strength and maturity to put my anger aside."

Obama said that she and Barack instructed their staff to do what "George and Laura Bush had done for us: run a respectful, seamless transition of power—one of the hallmarks of American democracy."

I would.

That is what I miss. I miss having a First Family with grace and dignity. We've seen none of that for the last four years.

Sorry about going low, but Fuck Trump and Fuck Melania and Fuck every damned enabler.

That wasn't so much because they liked the Obama's.

They had just spent 8 years of not keeping the country safe, and losing both revenge wars, and then doubling the national debt while crushing our 401K's and economy. Bush embarrassed the family name, so he had to be cordial.

The Obama's did not have to be cordial. They were because they are good and that's the way they are.

ONE MAN has destroyed more relationships than any other in history. I'd say even JESUS. Most religious disagreements between friends or family dont degrade to where we are now because of Trump.
And he wont go to the inauguration either. Although i dont know how long THAT tradition has been around

He certainly was not running the show when he was president. That was Cheney and other people like Paul Wolfowitz, Richard Perle, and Donald Rumsfeld. Disasters like Katrina happened because Bush was incompetent and the neocons didn't give a shit about it.

Jeb! was supposed to be president. Dubya should have stuck to baseball.

Many, MANY of us hated this guy. After a few years he was "sidelined" and yet put in positions where I and others had to deal with him on and off. Many of us wanted to just completely sideline this guy. I think they call it "gas lighting" these days. But we realized that mostly that would hurt the company, the project he was working, and the few people still under him. Even when he finally retired, some of us thought about throwing some sort of party to celebrate his departure, but thought better because of course he did have a few friends left behind and it would create a rift between many of us and those few that did like this guy.

In the end, it is always the case that holding and feeding hatred mostly hurts the holder and not the object. Trump's entire presidency was focused on hating anything and everything that Obama did or accomplished. It will ultimately be why his presidency was such a failure. It will also be the ultimate schadenfreude that Obama's vice president is the person that will replace him.

They say anger is like acid, it corrodes the vessel that holds it. We shouldn't have unresolved anger, it destroys us more than the object of our anger.

Donnie never got over it. He was disrespected by a "colored fellow" as his dad taught him. Younger people don't remember when just having an African-American friend brought out shouts of "ni**er lover" from white people like Trump.

Emmitt Till was brutally murdered just for admiring a white woman. These racists are subhuman and why we can't have nice things anymore.

it was NOT "what can I do for my country" but rather "Who does that 'uppity SOB' think he is and I'll show him!" (and I probably cleaned up the 'actual' quote).

And to think that there are still over 70 million people that think he deserves a second term.........

Honestly, this is exactly what everyone expected from this pig and Ms. KKKristmas.

And I won’t forgive him either - OR forget a single insult he threw at your husband and/or you.

I can hold a pretty good grudge, too, when it’s deserved. As this one is.

At this point I wouldn’t even relent if he formally apologized. Because I’d know better than to believe ANYTHING said by That Guy Who LIES All The Time.

The Trumps are white, overly white, trash, trailer trash to be specific.

To quote Frank Zappa, "I'm not black, but there are a lot of times I wish I could say I'm not white."
