Biden to Bring Three Top Campaign Officials to White House
Source: Bloomberg
President-elect Joe Biden is beginning to fill out his roster of top White House aides, with Cedric Richmond, Jen OMalley Dillon and Steve Ricchetti planning to take top jobs, according to people familiar with the matter.
Richmond, a Louisiana congressman, will have a senior role that would include public engagement. OMalley Dillon, Bidens campaign manager, will be a deputy chief of staff and Ricchetti, Bidens campaign chairman, will be given a senior role, the people said.
All appointments are scheduled to be announced on Tuesday. Biden had said he planned to name key White House aides before turning to cabinet jobs that require Senate confirmation.
Richmond will leave his seat in the House of Representatives just after he was elected to his sixth term. He has scheduled a news conference for Tuesday. A national co-chair of Bidens campaign, Richmond will be one of the highest-ranking Black aides in the White House.

Veteran Biden advisor Mike Donilon was named senior advisor to the president. Donilon served as Bidens chief strategist during the campaign.
Jen OMalley Dillon, who managed Bidens victorious campaign, will serve as White House deputy chief of staff.
Louisiana Rep. Cedric Richmond will be senior advisor to the president and director of the White House Office of Public Engagement. Richmond was a trusted advisor and highly visible Biden surrogate during the campaign. Insiders have described his role as similar to that of former White House senior advisor Valerie Jarrett, who often served as a sounding board for President Barack Obama.
Former Biden campaign chairman Steve Ricchetti will be senior counselor to the president, the Biden team announced. Ricchetti is a career political strategist whose ties to Biden go back decades. His work as a lobbyist in recent years raised eyebrows among progressives, who pressured Biden not to name Ricchetti White House chief of staff. Last week, Biden announced that longtime aide Ron Klain would serve as chief of staff.
