'This is not a television program': Mulvaney slams Giuliani's role on Trump campaign legal team

Source: Politico

Former acting White House chief of staff Mick Mulvaney on Wednesday slammed Rudy Giuliani’s leadership of the Trump campaign’s election-related legal challenges, saying that the effort to reverse the presidential race’s outcome “is not a television program” and should be handled by more experienced attorneys.

“I’m still a little concerned about the use of Rudy Giuliani. It strikes me that this is the most important lawsuit in the history of the country, and they’re not using the most well-noted election lawyers,” Mulvaney, who served as President Donald Trump’s top aide from January 2019-March 2020, told Fox Business in an interview.

“There are folks who do this all of the time. This is a specialty. This is not a television program. This is the real thing,” Mulvaney said. “And I was struck by a couple things that Rudy said in court yesterday. So on one hand, I think it needs to go forward. It absolutely does. I wish that it was being prosecuted a little more efficiently.”

Mulvaney’s assessment came after Giuliani, the president’s personal lawyer, filed a last-minute petition in federal court on Tuesday morning to represent the Trump campaign in its controversial lawsuit seeking to challenge the election results in Pennsylvania.

Loyalty has always been the metric used by this Administration when it comes to staffing issues. Competence and capability always take the back seat.

make "assessments." Assessments are made by those with a knowledge of factual reality and law.

Non Republicans have "assessment" capability, NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY.

This IS a television program and Mulvaney is playing the part of a parrot because he saw some Democratic assessments of Giuliani's stupidity.

Trump, the reality TV star, expressly makes it into one. And he knows that folks will tune in more to a drunken banshee self-groper like Rudy, than some more efficient but monotone technocratic lawyer. Its about stirring up his base. He knows he can't win anything in court. Its all about the means to an end. The flooding of the airwaves of "Democratic corruption and fraud" over and over and over and over and over. And to get folks to tune in to the brainwashing, put on someone who is like a car accident, you can't look away
