'What he is doing is outrageous': Doctors slam Sen. Ron Johnson over hearing on COVID-19 treatment

Source: Milwaukee Journal Sentinel

Doctors are criticizing a hearing held this week by U.S. Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wisconsin, about controversial treatments for COVID-19, including hydroxychloroquine — a drug that studies have found to be ineffective and in some cases dangerous when treating the disease.

During the hearing, Johnson pushed a baseless theory that the medical community was working to deny patients drugs such as hydroxychloroquine because they were cheaper than other treatments.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration revoked the emergency use authorization for hydroxychloroquine in June because of its lack of effectiveness and cited its potential for serious cardiac adverse events and other potential serious side effects.

..............................

"I believe international, federal and state medical agencies and institutions have let us down," Johnson said. "I fear too many have been close-minded bureaucrats, potentially driven by conflicting interests and agendas."

The three witnesses Johnson invited to the hearing, which was titled, "Early Outpatient Treatment: An Essential Part of a COVID-19 Solution," have promoted the use of hydroxychloroquine and other controversial treatments for the virus......................................................

My eff'n POS Senator from Wisconsin is the stupidest, Russian loving, money-grubbing, worthless slime ball ever to climb out of hell. Why do WI voters have this stinking pile as a Senator!?...His term is up next and it will be interesting if WI wants a Russian asset or a Democrat who WILL be an American first fending for The Constitution: The real Constitution not the imaginary, lip-service, relativistic Republican clay model.

Like insider trading.

He seems awfully insistent about getting it approved for use.

What say, traitor...let’s have a look at your trading reports for this year.

Senator Johnson has used his time in Congress to enrich himself and his family at the expense of hardworking Wisconsinites.
While Johnson presents himself as a Midwestern job creator, his wealth is the result of nepotism and favoritism. Johnson is one of the richest members of the Senate, with a net worth of tens of millions. He became rich not through bootstrapping entrepreneurship, as he often claims, but by marrying the daughter of a billionaire, Howard Curler, who ran the manufacturing giant Bemis. In 1979, after marrying Jane Curler, Johnson began running a plastics company called Pacur with her brother, Pat. Bemis was their only customer.

15. Wisc doomed to gerrymandering... AGAIN!

In 2011, the GOP state legislature created the most gerrymandered political maps in the US. They also won in court, in which SCOTUS punted the ruling back to the conservative controlled State Supreme Court which upheld the maps. The Dems would need 70% of the votes in every district to regain any seats. Gaming the system is exactly what the GOP did and this can only end with a statewide BINDING referendum to change the state's constitution and create a citizen run election map creation board.

The GOP STILL CONTROLS both state houses, and they will again, draw the election maps.
The only way to end gerrymandering, in Wisconsin, is to create a binding constitutional amendment, via referendum, which must be passed in three months in the Spring elections (Feb 16 and April 6, 2021).
