Biden says staff has spoken with Fauci: 'He's been very, very helpful'

President-elect Joe Biden said Tuesday that transition staffers have been in touch with Anthony Fauci, the nations leading infectious disease expert and a member of the White Houses coronavirus task force.
Biden told reporters that while he has not spoken with Fauci himself, Hes been very, very helpful.
Fauci confirmed to CNN that hes spoke with the president-elects team and that he hopes to stay on in his role as the head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases.
Fauci has served in his position since 1984, a span that has included working for six administrations. He has emerged as one of the most prominent health officials in the nation during the coronavirus pandemic, with polls showing widespread support for him among the public.

Biden sees Fauci as an expert, someone to listen to.
