Biden twists ankle while playing with dog, visits a doctor

Source: AP

WILMINGTON, Del. (AP) — President-elect Joe Biden twisted his ankle while playing with one of his dogs and will be examined by a doctor “out of an abundance of caution,” his office said Sunday.

Biden suffered the injury on Saturday and was visiting an orthopedist for an examination Sunday afternoon, his office said.

Biden was playing with Major, one of the Bidens’ two dogs. They adopted Major in 2018, and acquired their first dog, Champ, after the 2008 election. The Bidens have said they’ll be bringing their dogs to the White House and also plan to get a cat.

I mean, Joe didn't twist his ankle anywhere near as badly as Trump and Co. twisted themselves into pretzels while trying to claim and prove "election fraud." But none of them landed in the hospital.

Get well soon, President-Elect.

She saw a stray cat that did not belong to us. She likes her own cats, but this one was a stranger. She yanked the leash and I fell. I thought I had broken my wrist. It was just a bad sprain.

She has been gone for a year. We had to help her over the bridge last Thanksgiving. She was fourteen and a half.

I don't think we will get another dog. If a dog finds us, that is okay. But we are at the point where a dog might outlive us. That could be sad for the dog.

It's reassuring that nobody tried to minimize it by calling it "just a sprain" ... I'm also glad they decided on the abundance-of-caution approach rather than casually sauntering him over to one of those walk-in "Doc-in-a-Box" (or "Minute-Clinic'') locations, found in many shopping centers.

At our age, broken and fractured bones take longer to heal than it would for someone in their 30's or 40's. It's good to know that the only thing he needs is to be wearing a walking cast/boot (rather than a full-on rigid fiberglass cast).

I'm so glad it wasn't worse. I bet Jill Biden will be the type of spouse and partner who reminds him to take it easy and heal. I just don't see her as someone who'd want to rush Joe back out into making unnecessary public appearances. --- You know that there are very likely political-spouses out there who do exactly that. Kinda like the over-eager "stage mothers" that we've seen on "Toddlers and Tiaras" ... whose unrealized personal ambitions and unmet fantasies of fame and glory are lived vicariously through others whom they can manipulate.

Jill Biden will definitely be there to make sure that Joe doesn't get to eager. After all, people always "feel better" before they're fully healed. They think they're back to normal because the discomfort is gone... but there's till more internal healing to go.

Hi All - new to this group - found it while surfing. Anyways. I live in Southern Maryland in a very Republican county. I'm a member of a local forum and participate in the fun, non-political threads and read through the political threads and shake my head. I'm not a registered Democrat - I'm unaffiliated although I predominately vote Democrat. The forum loathes Democrats and has a lot of nut jobs that never met a conspiracy theory they didn't love.

So the latest is that Biden fell because of the ankle bracelet he is forced to wear which is hidden under a boot. The same type of boot that Hillary wore when she broke a toe and McCain wore when he tore a tendon.

Have you ever heard anything so crazy in your entire life?

Can't respond to the thread or I'll go bonkers.
