Trump Tells Georgia Governor to 'Call Off Election': 'It Won't Be Needed'

Last edited Tue Dec 1, 2020, 08:46 PM - Edit history (1)

As more states certify President-elect Joe Biden's victory, President Donald Trump is keeping up the pressure on Georgia Governor Brian Kemp to "call off the election."

Trump has yet to concede the election to Biden, who secured the 270 electoral votes necessary to win days after the election. Even as crucial swing states certify their results, Trump's team has maintained its legal fight against what the president claims, without evidence, is election fraud.

One of the states the team has its eyes on is Georgia. On Tuesday, Trump called for Kemp to "do something" because he had "allowed" his state to be "scammed." The president added that it was necessary to check signatures and count signed envelopes against ballots.

"Then call off the election. It won't be needed," Trump tweeted. "We will all WIN!"

So, Trump's theory is that his lackey, Republican Brian Kemp was complicit in a massive fraudulent scheme to steal Georgia in favor of Joe Biden? I guess that will be Trump's pitch in support of Republicans in the runoff elections. Your Republican elected leaders are corrupt and in the deep state pocket of Democrats, so please turn out and vote for them in this rigged process!

I realized that it wasn't the losing candidates calling the results into question. It was people who voted. The biggest mouth questioning 2020 results is impeached traitor. I wish to God he'd stfu. He is the worst loser I ever saw in my entire life.

Somehow the law about this has to be changed so the party in power doesn’t get to decide. There needs to be an independent nonpartisan committee of physicians and psychiatrists that would determine the ability of the president to serve, with the power to invoke the 25th.

Trump knows EXACTLY what he is doing here. This is one of the biggest con jobs yet and the media is doing his bidding. He is playing the media like a fiddle right now and laughing all the way to the bank as donations for his fake “fight elect fraud” PACS flows in with every retweet, news story, and news article published. Jr. sent out a frantic fundraising email just two days ago on the need to “donate now so we can demand recounts! Time is running out!” then he includes a link to their fundraising site.

This is Trump University and Trump’s fake Children with Cancer charity all over again and the media is giving them free advertising for it! What do they think those “hearings” held in hotels are for? This has to be one of Trump’s most successful cons ever.

I'm really tired of these blanket condemnations of "the Media". Please be specific.

Yes, he's creating hysteria out of whole cloth to line his pockets, but also to salve his fragile ego. I actually think it's important for us Libtards to know HOW he's undermining the foundations of our Democracy.

Is not journalism, it’s sensationalism.

As I wrote in my original post, until there is something CONCRETE for the news to report on, they are basically acting as PR for the Trump campaign. It doesn’t matter if the coverage is negative, they are basically giving Trump’s challenges legitimacy by reporting every sh*t show as if it’s newsworthy. They are free advertising for Trump’s PACS.

Keeping the fight going in the media does one thing—it keeps the fight going.

They can continue reporting but not make it FRONT PAGE NEWS status every time. Stop giving oxygen to Trump’s craziness. We can still be “informed” but we don’t need every crazy stunt or tweet to be treated as the most important news for the day!

Watch the history channels for McCarthy-ism and how the media helped Joe McCarthy’s ride to power. It wasn’t until McCarthy went after the military that he was finally taken down.

Fence sitters are the exact type that won’t bother to delve into the details and will just be peripherally aware that Trump is still dominating the news cycle. This serves Trump more than any fence sitter. Stop talking about him 24x7 and he becomes irrelevant. (Michael Cohen mentioned Trump loves ANY press coverage, negative or not, because it lends him the power to divide and manipulate. Trump’s worst fear is to be ignored BECAUSE HE LOSES POWER.)

NO, I don’t mean ignore anything truly newsworthy, such as Jared flying to the Middle East or Trump telling Pompeo to throw everything at Iran short of starting WWIII. THAT’S newsworthy. But I don’t want to hear every ridiculous crazy claim about election interference, or at least not as front page news. Don’t give Kayleigh McEnany’s latest ridiculous press conference or TV appearance the same importance as the escalating situation in Iran, for example.

One thing he excels at is IMPLYING - he is a savant at this kind of non-specific slanderous mob-boss wink-wink gobbledygook. Rudy or Leopard Print Lady feeds him ridiculous CT anecdotes, he sort of half-listens except when he gets called "sir", it goes in a blender, and out comes these Word Salads.

What is he asking Kemp to actually do? "Something".

The other stuff is just, "Ignore the rules and hand me the win!!!" But, is he also saying GA election officials should just say the Rs won the run off elections and cancel them?

Generally it's not worth trying to make literal sense of his word salads. He's usually just saying, "I'm the smartest, strongest, most attractive, best person ever! Praise me!!!" This one for some reason has me more curious. Though, it's likely no more meaningful than the rest of his babble.
