Trump threatens to veto major defense bill unless Congress repeals Section 230, a legal shield for t

Source: Washington Post

President Trump on Tuesday threatened to veto an annual defense bill unless Congress repeals the federal law that spares Facebook, Google and other social-media sites from legal liability over their content-moderation decisions.

Trump delivered the ultimatum targeting the digital protections, known as Section 230, in a late-night tweet that marked a dramatic escalation in his attacks against Silicon Valley over unproven allegations that the country’s tech giants exhibit bias against conservatives.

“Section 230, which is a liability shielding gift from the U.S. to ‘Big Tech’ (the only companies in America that have it - corporate welfare!), is a serious threat to our National Security & Election Integrity,” Trump tweeted.

Unless the “very dangerous & unfair Section 230 is not completely terminated as part of the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA),” Trump continued, “I will be forced to unequivocally VETO the Bill when sent to the very beautiful Resolute desk.”

Trump is going to hold up funds for the military because he got his knuckles wrapped for spreading lies and inciting violence online?

We know he's a petulant and pouty child, but this is a vicious sociopathic kid. My gawd--can we hold out to January 20th when the adults take over?

bullying declarations, it wouldn't change the fact that Twitter might still show trending topics critical of the President. Because 1st Amendment. Not that 1A matters to this WH occupant. Because he doesn't understand 230, he thinks he'll be able to bully media trends, even on Hannity.

Ending 230 will also mean that if Twitter (and others) faces more annoying, costly lawsuits for the actions of its users, it will just delete the accounts of troublemakers spewing conspiracy theories and nonsense on its platform. Like Trump's account.

...that, right now, there is a computer at Twitter headquarters set up to delete DiaperDon's account the second the Chief Justice of the United States speaks the words, "Congratulations, Mr. President," to President Biden.

Also, I find it extremely humorous that the worst threat to our national security and election integrity in the history of the world is claiming that Twitter is that very thing.

They stole millions for the wall and the military is still functioning and I haven't heard one complaint. Don't pass the defense bill, good. The only bills they NEED to pass are help for Covid and keeping the government open.

First, Fat Donnie damages our intelligence security by refusing to concede and start the peaceful and orderly transfer of power.

Now, he wants to veto the defense bill and damage our military security because Diaper Don trended on Twitter and his feelings are hurt.

And the GOP is enabling him by not joining the Democrats in overriding his veto. Traitors.

Worst. President. Ever.
