Biden Says Inauguration Will Resemble Virtual Convention

Source: MSN/WSJ

President-elect Joe Biden said his January inauguration is likely to resemble the largely virtual Democratic National Convention last summer due to the coronavirus pandemic, and he said he would emphasize safety to avoid spreading the virus.

“My guess is there will not be a gigantic inaugural parade down Pennsylvania Avenue. But my guess is you’ll see a lot of virtual activity in states all across America,” Mr. Biden said Friday in Wilmington, Del. He said it was “highly unlikely” that millions of people would gather at the National Mall as part of the festivities.

“I think you’re going to see something that is closer to what the convention was like than a typical inauguration,” he said.

Mr. Biden said his transition team was holding discussions with congressional leaders in preparations for the events planned on Jan. 20, when he is scheduled to be sworn-in as the nation’s 46th president. Public health officials have continued to warn against large gatherings as coronavirus cases have skyrocketed across the country.

He has denied the Biden administration access to pentagon and military intelligence. 75 % of senate republicans won’t acknowledge the election results. There is at least one snake on the SCOTUS that would reverse the will of the people.

Something tells me that trumps attention is on making hay, but nothing to do with Biden’s crowd size.

Turn digital special effects people loose and let them create the most spectacular fireworks display ever - virtually, of course.

That said, I am really not a fireworks fan. I'd rather see scenes from across the country that highlight the people, the scenery, and the arts of each state. Let's remember why each state is special rather than increase the divide between states and people.

We can surely have both. Anyway, fireworks doesn't increase the divide! I love fireworks set to patriotic songs. I look forward to the Fourth every year for this.

We could have both national songs and state songs, folk songs, protest songs, whatever is uplifting. We The People. Peace and Prosperity. Hay rides, fishing, sports, and babies!

I want to see and hear the Electeds, but I don't mind a unity effort, and most of the people are ready for rest. It's been a long, hard road. People want to hear encouraging words toward not having to eat Ramen 7 days a week.

I'll probably fall asleep, anyway...

...especially considering there was no precedent.

I actually preferred it over previous conventions.

My wife and I streamed the convention directly from the source, not on any television channel.

I don’t care where Joe takes it on January 20. I just want to see him take it.
