Michigan-Ohio State football game called off due to COVID-19 cases with Wolverines

Source: ESPN

The annual rivalry game between Michigan and Ohio State has been canceled due to an increase in COVID-19 cases over the past week within the Wolverines' program, the school announced.

The decision was made after conversations with medical experts, health department officials and the university administration.

"The number of positive tests has continued to trend in an upward direction over the last seven days," Michigan athletic director Warde Manuel said. "We have not been cleared to participate in practice at this time. Unfortunately, we will not be able to field a team due to COVID-19 positives and the associated quarantining required of close-contact individuals.

"This decision is disappointing for our team and coaches, but their health and safety is paramount, and it will always come first in our decision-making."

I love football and OSU football but they should have never tried to have a season this year.
It was and still is madness.

BTW this is 100% on Trump too. He just had to get rid of all those people, protocols, and materials
that were in place and would have stopped the virus from becoming a global pandemic.

The #s are exploding in both Ann Arbor and Columbus. Now the talk on sports talk
radio is will Ohio State still be in the Big Ten Playoffs and the national championship
games.

.... OSU has become a chasm. OSU is getting the best of the best and Michigan's highest
ranked player they brought in last year was ranked 90th in the country.

They can still get in the playoff if the committee picks them.

We love him in Columbus. He was running his mouth last summer and Ryan Day
said he would hang a 100 on them next time.

Harbaugh's head is certainly on the chopping block. I think he's gone actually. He's exploring NFL options at the moment. Not the storybook return to Michigan he was hoping for.
