Covid Cases Surge at Alaming Rate in California

CNN) -- Since the Thanksgiving holiday, California has faced a surge of Covid-19 infections unparalleled across the United States, leading to continued daily record highs in hospitalizations and deaths.

ICU bed capacity has plunged to nearly zero in vast portions of the state as patients rush into hospitals, which are struggling to manage strains on resources and personnel.

"We're experiencing an explosive and very deadly surge," Los Angeles County Public Health Director Dr. Barbara Ferrer said.

State and local officials are continuing to enact lockdown and quarantine protocols for residents and visitors, even as the Pfizer vaccine rollout has provided some long-term hope. While it may be too early to tell due to the virus' long incubation time, aggressive stay-at-home measures put forth throughout California two weeks ago have yet to slow the spread.

As the nation's most populous state and home to approximately 1 in 9 Americans, California would understandably lead in a category such as total cases in a pandemic felt nationwide. However, it is the sheer volume of sick residents and the rate of increase that is particularly driving alarm.

On November 1, the seven-day average for new daily cases in California was 4,183. On Thursday, it was 38,774.

The bottom line is this pandemic is getting ....much worse, not any better. .....................................
...................... Look at the last sentence, that is your proof...At the beginning of this article, the commentator says that this is the worst death rate has ever been in California during this pandemic...

....Please be careful and take precautions. This is not over, it is worse than ever...................

.........Also Note this quote:"CASES ARE RISING FASTER THAN EVER"..
..........

........................................Please think about that for a moment.........................................

I found another link for more information. Also CNN:

...................This horrible event...IS NOT OVER, IT IS WORSE THAN EVER..............

............(look at the graphics in the article, and the commentary)............................

I want to add my own opinion..Yes, I thought this was getting to the point that it will soon "be over.."

.......I did .. NOT KNOW... that this is getting much worse ...(in California).I suppose that is true elsewhere.
............I do NOT KNOW...if it is getting worse in other states.......

On Thursday, Dallas County only had 28 ICU beds available. That was yesterday.
It's getting worse just about everywhere, Stuart G.

3. Unfortunately, California has moved up to #3 highest daily new cases Per Capita. Some links-

just behind Tennessee and Rhode Island
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/coronavirus-us-cases.html

and their case numbers are still going straight up
https://www.nytimes.com/interactive/2020/us/california-coronavirus-cases.html

See graphs of cases, hospitalizations, and deaths at the above link, and a map where you can click on counties.

I thought California had this all under control, with restrictions that phase in and out according to the metrics and by locality, sounded pretty good and until about a month ago had long been way below the U.S. average in new cases Per Capita.

So it's disappointing to see California blow up. And on top of that my sister and her family and family's families live in California (San Diego County). For a long time Minnesota and Hennepin County (MN) was way worse than California in Per Capita new cases, now CA is considerably worse. Just amazes me how these things can change so quickly (I know it shouldn't but it does).

4. this increase didnt just magically appear

this is the direct result of peoples own actions.
They were WARNED again and again and again and again until I change the channel
now when Covid stories come on.
They are being warned again.
The same thing will happen again and again, we could lose 1+ million or more yet.
This was the maggot administrations plan all along, to sacrifice up to 1% of the population to the virus.

1. Wear the mask
2. social distance as best as you can limit outside people from you.
3. be sensible about where you go, no crowds, restaurants, gyms, bars, churches no large family/friend gatherings.
4. Wash hands or use hand sanitizer as you can. (i use gloves in grocery store)

its no guarantee of non -infection but it increases your good odds.

"At Los Alamitos Medical Center, a line of at least 17 ambulances with patients were spotted Wednesday outside the emergency room bay. Fire department paramedics from Anaheim, Long Beach, Orange County Fire Authority and LA County waited with their patients, some of whom were on gurneys, on the sidewalk leading up to the driveway of the emergency room bay. The last 3 days have each been over 50,000 new infections and over 250 dead. And now that we've run out of ICU beds throughout the majority of the state....
