Republican Governor Cancels Inauguration After Receiving Armed Threats Over Mask Order

Source: Newsweek

BY BRENDAN COLE ON 12/31/20 AT 8:33 AM EST

New Hampshire governor Chris Sununu has canceled his outside inauguration ceremony next month because he said protests against his order requiring masks to be worn to mitigate against the coronavirus have become more threatening.

On November 20, he ordered people to wear masks in public spaces both inside and outside due to the coronavirus pandemic. Two days later, small-scale protests against the move started outside his residence in Newfields.

The mask order, which expires on January 15, 2021, was put in place because of a spike in coronavirus cases, including outbreaks at five nursing homes.

Following other protests outside the governor's house, the Newfields selectorboard, which includes the governor's brother Michael Sununu, issued an ordinance on December 22, forbidding picketing in the town's residential areas with violators facing a $100 fine, NBC Boston reported.

churches, restaurant owners, anywhere people congregate for group activity.

You don't see anyone protesting from the supermarkets, or the gas station, or the post office or the hospitals.

It's people whose incomes are adversely effected by shutdowns.

Preachers are the most prominent because they sermonize and motivate their flocks. Masks in church or closing churches of course diminishes attendance and reduces revenue from the collection plate.

This is pure and simple economic - financial motivations. It has nothing to do with anything other than money.

Masks alone are a deterrent to gatherings because they remind of the virus and encourage more prudent behavior such as not attending and not staying as long, and perhaps not contributing as much to be more fiscally prudent at home.

the state government is not enforcing mask mandates.

“ It's people whose incomes are adversely effected by shutdowns. ”

There are no shutdowns here.

he plays to these goons by supporting open carry which is legal in NH. New Hampshire also has Permitless Carry. Anyone who can legally possess a firearm can carry open or concealed without any type of permit/license.

They have been inflaming all these jackasses for years and now they are ripping the fruits. It is always their theme to think that their crazy followers will never turn on them...these people don't learn.

I have said and written to my friends "Happy New Year #1", when they ask I tell them that "Happy New Year #2" happens on January 20th 2021 when the buffoon leaves, or is dragged out of the White House. I suspect Biden and family will not occupy the White House the same day of the inauguration, that Biden will have the White House fully decontaminated, fumigated and full cleanse from the stench trump and family will leave behind.

I told my niece that I would not put it past trump to leave some dirty diapers hidden in some places to continue to stink the place...but I am confident the cleaning crew will find them before Biden and family move in.

The idiotic Trump followers are responsible for spreading and prolonging this pandemic, and they don't seem to give a fuck.

Oddly, enough "to promote the general welfare" is the only phrase, with identical context & intent, to appear in two different parts of the Constitution.
They double ignore it.
