Still, it amused me, and still does.

(269 posts)Convicted too soon. Chump will pardon them given the opportunity.

(2,009 posts)Can he preemptively pardon them before they're charged/convicted? How specific does he have to be in what he pardons people for?
Regardless, I had been thinking about it because such considerations would lend an urgency to the "25-45 vs Impeachment 2: the Sequel" question. If Needy Amin can be booted out of office prior to Jan 20, there would be less time to learn the names and charges of the Pro-Fa terrorists he might want to pardon.

(4,589 posts)Just my two cents. I don't think a blanket pardon, e.g. "for all involved in riot of January 6," would be allowed. But if the president specified by name the people to be pardoned for actions during the riot, that would be allowed.

(4,787 posts)When one of the assholes killed a LEO inside of the building, that likely put the charge in play for several of them. (The death of the woman breaking/crawling through a window may qualify as well.) Life in prison, or in some cases, a possible capital charge.
If they identified the murderer (and I bet they will), he definitely faces capital murder charges.

(14 posts)After serving their time,or in lieu of:
Loss of voting rights
Loss of social security benefits
Loss of driving licence
Loss of second amendent right
Loss of flying privilege (place on no fly list)
These are a few of suggested punishments that should be handed down to those who participate in treasonist actions.
These represent my sole opinion.
