Pro-Trump Rally, Counter-Protest in PB Turns 'Violent,' Police Declare 'Unlawful Assembly'

Source: NBC San Diego

Flyering overhead at about 3 p.m., video from SkyRanger 7 showed a line of SDPD officers trying to disperse the demonstrators. Officers were struck with glass bottles, eggs and rocks, according to law enforcement.

Dozens of patrol cars are on the scene, and a officers in riot gear appear to have formed two lines near the intersection of on Mission Boulevard at the intersection of Hornblend Street to separate the two groups.

Both sides appear to have several hundred people and are now separated by several hundred feet, with the two lines of officers in between.

At 3:30 p.m., the situation had the appearance of a standoff, with the two sides rallying in place.

Many of these cops --and their leadership-- are authoritatian racists who agree with white minority rule in the US. They totally simpathize with these protesters/insurrectionists. They don't fear them because they look at them as "one of us."

I only commented in case there was ANYONE in the DU world who didn't know.

The actions of several of the Capital police on the 6th was absolutely disgusting. Waving the mob in and taking selfies with traitors should result in prosecution and prison time for those cops. Particularly vile when one of their own was MURDERED by a fire extinguisher smashed on his skull.

I am so sick of this shit.

They had several protests pressuring Newsom to stop lockdowns which led to an increase in Covid and it the Covid numbers have been increasing since. The business people also support them. PB has defied orders and is having parties, going to bars and gyms without masks, etc.

I know PB is drunken party central but I thought east county had the RWNJ, not the liberal beaches.

That's when I was there, mostly. Last time I lived in the county I was in east county in the early and mid 80s. It was definitely time to leave for good. The 70s were fun at the beach. I lived at two places in PB and was in north park for a time, near Julio's, that awesome Mexican restaurant with the Mariachi band. The food was some of the best around.

PB is known for their drunken partying. During Covid they were maskholes and are responsible for reopening too early and an increase in Covid numbers since the summer. They are very self absorbed and immature.

OB is Ocean Beach and MB is Mission Beach and TJ is Tijuana.

When using 'San Diego speak,' none of us knows what the other one is saying!

I'm grateful for one word cities. If somebody says Poway, I know what they're talking about!

I'm always scratching my head about the abbreviations online. I used to try to figure them out. Now I figure if somebody can't be bothered to write it out, it's not important.

that the woman who was killed was known to her family as becoming somewhat tRump crazy and they didn't understand why she decided to go to DC. The video she made in her car ranting shows a very unstable person.

The people at the beaches became maskholes over the Summer.

garb w/sunglassess & masks. You can see they were white by their hands and what little of their faces were showing, helmets & carrying a big professionally made antifacist sign & BLM signs. This was just too organized & uniform for a funky little beachtown in San Diego. Something phony about it. It looked like trump's people are trying to manufacture an "enemy" to pin stuff on.

I live in another funky little beach town in San Diego.

The "Antifa" group were held back with a loose semi-circle of about 30 officers in the intersection by the CVS (where a lot of locals were also just going about their business, so the local hooligans might be responsible for some thrown items) but the main group of police were in a modified line and phalanx arrangement facing the Trump and Gadsden flag wavers, who were a larger more organized group, from what the news copter was showing.
