Jordan calls on Cheney to step down from House leadership
Source: The Hill
Rep. Jim Jordan (R-Ohio) is calling on House Republican Conference Chair Liz Cheney (R-Wyo.) to be removed from leadership for announcing her plans to vote to impeach President Trump for inciting last week's riot at the Capitol.
Jordan, a founder of the conservative House Freedom Caucus and one of Trump's top defenders in the House, joined other GOP allies of Trump in calling for Cheney to step down from the role.
"We ought to have a second vote," he told reporters, according to the Capitol Hill reporter pool. "The conference ought to vote on that."
Jordan's comments echo those of Rep. Matt Rosendale (R-Mont.) and Freedom Caucus Chairman Andy Biggs (R-Ariz.).
"When Representative Cheney came out for impeachment today, she failed to consult with the Conference, failed to abide by the spirit of the rules of the Republican Conference, and ignored the preferences of Republican voters," Rosendale said in a statement Tuesday.
"She is weakening our conference at a key moment for personal political gain and is unfit to lead. She must step down as Conference Chair."

Her vote gets 33,000 TIMES the worth a citizen voter in California or New York.

Sorry, I almost spritzed the water I was drinking. This tiny little man should know that his faction of the Republican Party is over and he cannot reverse history. He should also know that whatever is left of the GOP after this debacle is not going to look kindly on him, nor will his voters. (Well, maybe not his voters.)

(9,067 posts)Jim Jordan is an angry, violent man who constantly acts out for the cameras. He is the personification of acting for personal gain.
And he is not only unfit to lead, he is unfit for Congress.
I'm not a fan of Liz Cheney, but she has a lot more courage than Jordan ever had.
Oh, and everybody in the "Freedom" Caucus already knew where she stood on impeachment. She's been talking about it for days...no surprise there.

My hatred of the Cheneys goes all the way back to the 1960s when I made the acquaintance of her godawful daddy at University of Wisconsin, back in the day when he was a grad student there, getting one of his 5 deferments from Vietnam. That sneer was present even then.
