Rep. Lauren Boebert says Twitter account locked until Inauguration Day
Source: KRDO-TV Colorado Springs
Boebert has been in the hot seat online after defending President Donald Trump's claims of election fraud and also saying he did not incite any of the violence seen when pro-Trump supporters stormed the Capitol.
Critics have also accused her of inciting the violent mob on Jan. 6 through her Twitter posts.
Boebert denounced Twitter's decision to ban Trump from using its services, saying "unelected tech oligarchs should not have such massive power over global discourse."
Thousands of people online and across Colorado have asked for the newly elected congresswoman to resign. But she fired back on Monday saying Democrats and "Hollywood elites" are hypocrites and are also to blame for escalating political division.

(2,626 posts)Just like Sarah Palin, she will become a has-been who will show her face to stir things up when she needs to make a buck or is afraid people will forget her. She fits right in with the insurrectionists Trump incited on January 6.
I have no doubt he thinks of her just like he described them. "Low class".

(2,626 posts)She's front and center as a side show distraction which should not be tolerated. Every Republican in Congress flouting the law, minimizing the attempted overthrow of the US government and arguing against the impeachment of the Inciter in Chief is un-American.

This sort revels in the badass imagery and noteriety that comes with attracting negative attention.
She's playing to an audience. No doubt.

(155 posts)I am hoping that the FBI and the DOJ are looking seriously at this House member for sedition. Prior to the 6th, evidence shows that Boebert led now identified insurrectionists that participated in the violence on the 6th on a special tour of he Capital. Then during the insurrection, Boebert tweeted to her followers (which we know must include those in the mobs) the movements and location of Speaker Pelosi. It seems like she was planning for this or at least felt the need to participate. I really hope that there is some activity on this by law enforcement to at least look at her actions, and that the House needs to expel her as well. She seems a bit clueless about the connecting dots here. She may want to start talking to a lawyer just in case.

(22,119 posts)However, after a review, the social media platforms staff determined they had ruled in error and instead flagged as disputed Boeberts Jan. 9 tweet that falsely accused Democrats of rigging the 2020 election.
In this instance, our teams took the incorrect enforcement action, the spokesperson said in an email. The Tweet will not be required to be removed and the account will not be temporarily locked.

(627 posts)The reason that Trump vetoed the Defense appropriation bill is that he wanted to have a law changed so that companies like Twitter could be sued for their content. So when Twitter (and other companies) ban people who would post content that would have opened them to law suits under Trumps requested law change ...
