GOP congressman will vote for impeachment: We "are responsible for not speaking out sooner"

Source: CNN

Republican Rep. Dan Newhouse explained why he will vote in favor of impeaching Trump, saying, "There is no excuse for President Trump's actions."

"Others, including myself, are responsible for not speaking out sooner — before the President misinformed and inflamed a violent mob," Newhouse said.

Newhouse said Trump did not act to stop the insurrection at the Capitol.

“There is no excuse for President Trump's actions. The President took an oath to defend the Constitution against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Last week, there was a domestic threat at the door of the Capitol, and he did nothing to stop it. That is why with a heavy heart and clear resolve, I will vote yes on these articles of impeachment,” he said.

Better late than never, I suppose, but this entire damned mess could have been avoided if GOPers hadn't put party over country the first time around.

While we disagree on most issues, I rise to applaud Congressman Newhouse and Congresswoman Jamie Heurrera-Butler.

They see that the winds of history have changed. The Republican Party is battling to defeat the stain of Donald Trump. The great majority of our citizens... Red and Blue... have had enough of the militias, the racists, and the crackpots that found their savior in charlatan fraud.

Moderates and intitutionalists WILL be back. These two Republicans from the upper left-hand corner will be part of that process.

A repuke taking responsibility, telling the truth, and apparently ready to vote to rectify admitted oversights? Gasp!

Come on over to the sane side, Congressman.

They probably recognize that Trump gets in the way of effectively administering the system.

5. Fox Alternative Facts Network could have helped to avoid this mess by telling the TRUTH.

Our Politicians & MSM should be calling out Fox for their role in this mess. You know the network who
claimed only they told the truth not MSM, well the shoe is on the other foot. Hopefully our new DOJ
will charge them along the lines of attempting to overthrow our government with fines in excess of
robert murdoch's wealth.

And that will never happen, more likely he'll be sharing a room with his buddy donnie where
they get three free meals a day. RepubliCONs surely want NO responsibility for this insanity.
