Trump has told staff not to pay Rudy Giuliani over irritation at being impeached again

Source: CNN

President Donald Trump, irritated at being impeached for a second time, has told people to stop paying Rudy Giuliani's legal fees, a person familiar with the matter tells CNN, though aides were not clear if the President was serious about his instructions given he's lashing out at nearly everyone after the day's events.

Trump became the first president in US history to be impeached twice on Wednesday, one week after a mob stormed the US Capitol following a speech by the President that excoriated his supporters to fight against the counting of the electoral votes that would affirm President-elect Joe Biden's win. The insurrection left five people dead, including one Capitol Police officer, and has left the nation's capital and state capitols around the country preparing for potential violence as Biden is set to be inaugurated next week.

Trump has been blaming his longtime personal attorney and many others for the predicament he now finds himself in, though he has not accepted any responsibility in public or in private, people familiar with his reaction told CNN. Giuliani is still expected to play a role in Trump's impeachment defense but has been left out of most conversations thus far.

(snip)

One White House adviser told CNN that "everybody's angry at everyone" inside the White House, with the President being upset because he thinks people aren't defending him enough.

And Trump is going to stick it up Rudy's poop chute.

And Trump's MAGAts believe he truly cares about them and loves them. Some probably think he'll pick up the tab for their lawyer fees. 🤣 These people truly are to stupid to be alive. I bet breathing isn't an involuntary function for most of them. " OK, gotta' remember to breathe here".

Why do people continue to associate with that piece of garbage? Every stinking thing Trump touches dies. And that's not an exaggeration.

Point is, it's not like Rudy wasn't paid for the last year or so at all. Instead, he'd submit invoocies or a letter for both and get paid regularly. Now, that said, he's not been paid for January work in my opinion.

Yeah. I fully agree that why in the world would ANYBODY want to work for Trump unless paid in full in advance?

Stiffing his contractors and subcontractors?

They finish the job, he inspects, says they didn't do a good job and refuses to pay them. They night sue, but he has enough money to ask for delay after delay and wait them out, and they have to give up and go away, or settle for less.

Let's hope not.

This makes as much sense as a person blaming their doctor for not being able to run so fast after deliberately sawing off their own leg. Unless of course Giuliani advised him beforehand that attempting a coup d'etat would have no legal consequences.

Notes on usage:

Consult VS Consult with

Can you guys help me out with the correct usage of "To consult"? Very often, I've seen people using "to consult with someone or something." If you could please give me some examples, that would be great. Please advise.

1 Answer

The only time you consult with someone is when you're seeking advice from a person (not a book or internet article), and you're looking for general information. Any time you say "consult with", you can use "consult" instead. Using "consult" sounds more direct, which is why it's used when you're looking for very specific information. Here're a few examples:

Rudy has been milking Donny for decades now. Guliani is a leech who saw a cash cow. What did he say he was getting? $20,000 a day? Sweet gig. It had to run out eventually.

But WHY ISN'T RUDY IN JAIL????
He is not protected by position. He is the one who gave the most dangerous encouragement to the terrorists. "trial by combat"
