The day after a Colorado man driving a truck loaded with weapons made it to Washington, D.C., last week, he texted a frightening forecast of what could come with President-elect Joe Biden’s inauguration.

“I predict that within the next 12 days, many in our country will die,” wrote Cleveland Grover Meredith Jr., who had threatened to kill Washington Mayor Muriel Bowser and House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), according to federal court records....



“He also lacks ties to the community and appears to have no regard for governmental functions,” Sherwin said. “A clearly disturbed, deranged, and dangerous individual that fantasizes about committing horrific acts of violence and takes countless steps to carry them out by driving across several states with a trailer stocked with thousands of rounds of ammunition and multiple firearms—including an assault style rifle—should not remain in the community.”................

I say that every single day. We could not ask for a better person in charge than Joe Biden who is the exact opposite of trump. He is a man with years of experience in all facets of how our federal government works. He has also always been very well respected. He and Obama had a wonderful workig relationship and I would stake my life on Obama being at the ready with advice if Biden seeks it.

Years of right-wing media propaganda, conspiracy theories, and the deliberate support for white supremacy have all brought us to this point. I worry that we’re entering another phase as in the 60s when political assassination and random violence were the reactions to perceived ills. Somehow it seems worse now because we have ignored these right-wing extremists and self-appointed militias for decades and allowed the gun culture to get out of control, with guys like this being able to buy armor-piercing military bullets.

believe me they all have stockpiles like that. They carry all of those guns and ammo because then they are not afraid. That's exactly what they tell me. They also tell me they keep loaded guns in the house so they won't be afraid, and this is in a small rural town with very little crime, other than drugs and DUI's.
