Biden says Trump left him a 'very generous letter' before departing White House

Source: CNN

CNN)President Joe Biden said Wednesday that former President Donald Trump left him a "very generous letter" before departing the White House.

Biden, speaking from the Resolute Desk in the Oval Office after signing Day One executive orders, said he would not immediately reveal the contents of the letter out of respect for Trump.

"The President wrote a very generous letter," Biden told reporters. "Because it was private, I will not talk about it until I talk to him, but it was generous."

A senior Trump aide described the letter to CNN as a "personal note" that prays for the success of the country and the new administration to care for the country. The aide said writing the letter to Biden was one of the many items on Trump's list in the Oval Office Tuesday night.

Stricken from every pylon and obelisk in the United States. Let the name of Trump be unheard and unspoken, erased from the memory of man, for all time.

not sure how anything he wrote could be considered "generous" after refusing to admit defeat, staging a coup and refusing to attend the inauguration - but we have to remember how fucking LOW the bar is for Trump

I'm confident that if a letter was left behind, it was scribed by an aide or the janitor cleaning the office.
Trump would have written a "perfect" or "powerful" letter, not "generous".

You know Trump wanted Joe to show the media the letter and read it so Trump could get some spotlight on Biden's big day. Joe merely said he wouldn't read it because it was personal and he would wait until he "talked to him". Then his press spokesperson when asked said "there are no plans for Biden to talk to him".

Translation, we know why the letter was left, no we won't give Trump any more oxygen, and no Joe will never talk to Trump so you will never be shown the letter. Well played yet again Joe!

That's all this is. Trump is a phony and a fraud. He tried to steal President Biden's hard fought and fairly won election victory by circumventing the very Democratic process our nation relies on. Trump is an enemy of the United States and his "generous" words are worthless.

Unless he comes out and confesses all crimes, apologizes and takes full accountability for the destruction he has sowed then he can go piss up the proverbial rope.

He defaults to kindness, even when dealing with adversaries.

We know the character Trump displays in public. I think "generous" is Biden's kind words on the letter. He did note that he wanted to talk to Trump before releasing the contents of the letter. Which makes me very curious as to what Trump said. (or one of his staffers wrote that Trump signed, which we've seen before from him)
