U.S. officials early handling of evacuees from Wuhan, China, increased the risk of the spread of the coronavirus, according to the findings from a government watchdog.
The U.S. Office of the Special Counsel (OSC) opened an investigation into allegations that officials with the Health and Human Services Department sent workers without proper protective gear to receive Americans that were evacuated from Wuhan during the coronavirus outbreak.
The report backs a whistleblower account of the actions taken at the March Air Force Base in California.
The OSC Special Counsel Henry Kerner sent a letter to President Biden on Thursday, in which he said the most troubling finding was that the mission increased the risk of infection transmission not only to deployed to ployed USG personnel but also to the American public as a whole.

One thing I'm hopeful for is that he has totally destroyed the republican party.

One woman, who's husband died of COVID (she felt he'd contracted after leaving the ship), said there were absolutely no prevention protocols observed in moving people from the docks to their final destinations. By the time they arrived home, she said they were most likely saturated with the virus. There were many reports of flight crew on those aircraft subsequently becoming sick with the COVID virus. If I remember correctly there were some 800 of them. In the earliest days of the pandemic they were the highest infection rate of any profession including health care workers. Of course, any news of this were suppressed so as to 'not cause a panic'.

(7,917 posts)This seems far more than incompetence and haste. It seems more like intentional exposure to insure distribution. The kind of judgement made to help spread the disease, presumably to help those ready to profit from such disaster, but I am open to other suggestions.
