Congress’ job approval improved by 10 points in January from December and has hit its highest number since early in the coronavirus pandemic, according to a Gallup poll released on Friday.

The survey found that 25 percent of adults surveyed approve of the job Congress is doing, up from 15 percent in December.

The poll also found that 44 percent of those surveyed said they have a favorable opinion of Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.), an increase from 39 percent in February 2020, just before the coronavirus pandemic began to hammer the U.S. Eighty-one percent Democrats, 38 percent of independents and 7 percent of Republicans polled said they have favorable views of the Speaker.

In addition, Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell’s (R-Ky.) favorability has dropped to 22 percent, driven by a lack of support from those who identified as Republicans. Forty-two percent of Republicans surveyed said they have favorable views of McConnell, down from 69 percent in February 2020.
