Lindsey Graham Warns Not to Allow 'QAnon Shaman' Impeachment Testimony, Says Trial Could 'Go For Months'
Aila Slisco 5 hrs ago

Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) has warned against allowing "QAnon Shaman" Jacob Chansley to testify at former President Donald Trump's unprecedented second impeachment trial.

Chansley, also known as Jake Angeli, is facing multiple charges for his participation in the insurrection that the article of impeachment alleges the former president incited on January 6. Although Graham denounced the House for impeaching Trump on January 13 without calling any witnesses, on Friday the senator said that allowing witnesses at the Senate trial could lead to a lengthy "circus" featuring testimony from the likes of Chansley.

"I cannot think of a better way to turn the upcoming impeachment trial into a complete circus than to call the QAnon Shaman as a witness on anything," Graham tweeted. "The House impeached President Trump without a witness. If we open the witness door in the Senate there will be lots of witnesses requested on a variety of topics. And the trial will go for months, not days."

Chansley was the subject of photos that quickly went viral after the Capitol was violently breached by pro-Trump rioters. The shirtless "shaman" was pictured wearing a memorable outfit that included a furry horned hat and patriotic face paint.

I believe that the lack of their being held accountable has only served to further embolden them. They are just like any child that is not disciples for bad behavior. They soon become totally unmanageable tyrants. It truly incomprehensible that a person such as Greene would be elected to the congress. We have always will have the strange eccentric, but it is hard to phantom how such a person believes in the most bizarre conspiracies is elected. It makes me really wonder if the Republic has a future when so many people can be so misguided that they would attempt to destroy the government that provides them freedoms that they would totally abuse.

We have been warned time and time again that the Republicans are embracing fascism and that our nation is in jeopardy. Will we wake-up in time or allow the radicals to create a dictatorship as what has happened in parts of Europe. We had better come to the realization that Biden is our last hope and give him dedicated support or face the consequences of apathy.

I'm good with the trial going on for months. That gives the Dems plenty of time to present the evidence against Trump in excruciating detail.

And thanks to the pandemic that Trump called a hoax, there are millions of people who will be riveted by the proceedings because it beats the hell out of watching another CSI/Friends/Big Bang Theory marathon.

And poor Lindsey - still living with the delusion that whatever kompramat Trump has on him will stay under wraps as long as he keeps kissing ass.

So if I understand this, Republicans want to call all the people who did not commit a felony January 6th as rebuttal witnesses?

Sure. That’s what they do in criminal cases. When the guy is charged with murder, the defense will call all his neighbors to the witness stand to say “I didn’t murder anyone, how could he have done it?”.

I guess when Q-Anon is your deity, logic isn’t required.

The act of impeachment is similar to a grand jury indictment. You often don't have witnesses at those, either. But you could ask your buddy Donnie (I won't say his name beyond that), since I expect he'll have some significant exposure to grand juries in the next few weeks/months/years.

Or maybe this clown is a plant. Who was the absolutely most notable and identifiable person in all of the insurrection? Let's focus on the bright and shiny object, and don't worry about all of the actual planners and schemers that actually met with the repubs and planned this whole thing. I think that this guy is a distraction. They should put somebody else on the stand, not an idiot.
