AJC poll: Republicans in dicey political territory in Georgia

Source: Atlanta Journal-Constitution

After suffering major losses, Georgia Republicans enter a new election cycle in a dire political position, according to an exclusive Atlanta Journal-Constitution poll that found leading Democrats earned significantly higher ratings than their GOP counterparts.

The poll, conducted by the University of Georgia, reflects an upended political landscape after Georgia voted Democratic for president for the first time since 1992 — and then two GOP incumbents were swept in runoffs that flipped control of the U.S. Senate.

On the cusp of a tough reelection battle, Kemp’s approval rating stands at just 42% — and his disapproval is at 51%. More than one-third of Republicans — 36% — disapprove of his performance. That’s more than quadrupled from the 8% of Republicans who held a dim view of Kemp in the AJC’s January 2020 poll.

Trump’s standing is even worse. A solid majority of Georgians disapprove of the former president in the weeks since he left office, with 57% giving him an unfavorable rating, compared with just 40% who approved of his performance in the White House.

Even among Republicans, Trump's approval rating has slipped from 95% to 84%.

More results in a tweet from The Hill's Reid Wilson, which is how I found this article:

Georgia favorable ratings (AJC/UGA poll):
Raph. Warnock 54 fav / 37 unfav
Joe Biden 52 / 41
Stacey Abrams 51 / 41
Jon Ossoff 50 / 40
Democratic Party 50 / 44
Republican Party 34 / 59

Job ratings:
Trump 40 approve / 58 dis
Gov. Kemp 43 / 51

Otherwise we can lose the majority in the Senate or the House at any time.

Ask some DU Georgians ... it's peculiar, given how far off most of the State polls were in 2020.

When People know their vote IS going to count, they are more likely to vote.

TRUST and TRUTH are our allies...not Lies and Wackjob Conspiracy Theories.

Georgia proves this. 4 or 5 times in 2 months. The machines were verified and legitimatized by multiple hand counts.

results went Biden & the 2 Dem senators. Raffensberger is now SoS, unlike in 2018 when Kemp was SoS while running for governor the election was rigged to swing in his favor. With him showing poorly in the polls, my bet is Stacey will kick his butt in 2022.

I always thought the latter two were better bets for us than Georgia, maybe because Obama won them.
Looks like Stacey Abrams' hard work is paying dividends.

it's funny how they have polls for Warnock and Ossoff who have only been in office a week.

We need lots more headlines about Republicans in disarray.

In Kentucky, McConnell is hated but Democrats are more hated. In Georgia, the Dem party has a higher rating than the Repubs. Remember Trump lost GA but won Kentucky handily.

Not saying the KY election was stolen, just that I don't trust the old unsecure ESS machines one bit.

And that Dominion machines were validated 3 times in hand counts.

They will come up with some dumb ass law like you have to have 2 inch fingernails to qualify to vote. And the fact that trump still has an approval rating at all shows my state is still F'd up.
