FCC slaps Montana man with $9.9M fine for racist robocalls that included Adolf Hitler recording

Source: USA Today

A Nazi sympathizer from Montana has been slapped with a $9.9 million fine from the Federal Communications Commission for racist and harassing robocalls across eight states that targeted political figures and attempted to influence the murder case against an avowed white supremacist.

Scott D. Rhodes made thousands of calls in 2018 harassing Black and Jewish politicians including Stacey Abrams, then the Democratic nominee for Georgia governor, and Andrew Gillum, the Democratic candidate for governor in Florida, as well as California Sen. Dianne Feinstein, another Democrat, according to an FCC complaint.

It'll be interesting to see what fines Jack Burkman and Jacob Wohl might get for their racist robe calls in Michigan and Ohio this past election.

Part a parcel of American International Insurance and Causality. Backside of HOW home owners insurance. Someone has a Boiler room Contract for this sucker. Until the FTC steps in,we are going to keep on getting these sucker calls. BTW,the Call Centers Employee usually gets 10% of the freight and other incentives.

in hate messages about minorities.

In a September 2018 interview with the Des Moines Register, Tibbetts' father Rob Tibbetts said he believed he was among the first to receive the message, which claimed if Mollie could be brought back to life, she would say of immigrants, "Kill them all."

"It was unbelievably painful," he said. "It was everything that’s dark and wrong in America right now."

Hopefully the DoJ will prosecute and he'll go to prison. RIP Molly.

...to him, his fine was reduced from $12-something million to its current $9.9 million. What a break!

It reminds me of a story I heard about years and years ago. A convicted murderer appealed his 900 year sentence, and the appeals court ruled that it was, in fact, excessive. The court magnanimously reduced his sentence to 700 years.

I checked out audio tapes used in German class and after the recording said, "repeat after me", I spliced in some recordings of Hitler speeches.
I quietly returned them to the library but never heard anything about them again.
