Georgia Republicans Launch 'Stop Stacey' to Counter Abrams' 2022 Organizing
Source: National Review
Republicans in Georgia have had just about enough of Stacey Abrams it seems.
The Democratic activist and media darling has been lauded by liberal leaders for helping President Joe Biden turn Georgia blue in November and following that up by electing two left-wing U.S. senators in January, giving Democrats control of all elected levers of power in Washington D.C.
On Monday, a group of Republican strategists in Georgia and elsewhere announced the formation of Stop Stacy, which they describe as national, grassroots organization of engaged conservatives that will stand up to the left and prevent a complete left-wing takeover of Georgia and America in 2022.
According to a menacing video on the website StopStacy.org, the groups intent is to: Stop higher taxes. Stop government healthcare takeover. Stop the assault on election integrity. Stop the radical left. Stop the new DC swamp. Stop Stacey Abrams.

(4,128 posts)...sounding tag lines, banner names. etc. "Stopping" someone, even for Republicans, doesn't reverberate like a message of support. Thanks God these assholes don't know that!

(2,728 posts)I got a great idea: Why don't you run on your plans and successes? Show the voters what you did to improve their lives, and what you plan to do, in specifics. Run on your own merits.
Who are we kidding? The GOP is a failure that can only win by smears, lies, and cheating. They have proven for 50 years they can't govern, and they get more incompetent and crazier by the day.

those stations will be doing a lot of the dirty work they won't want to put their names to in ads, etc
those schools are using their majority black athletes to bring in ad dollars for trump-supporting stations that call kneeling athletes un-american and BLM protestors "marxist communist terrorists" (common limbaugh). they also called COVID a hoax and got many people killed
they need to reread their mission statements and start looking for apolitical alternatives

(12,217 posts)When I read StopStacey.org's mission statement, I was struck yet again by the way they are able to frame their propaganda. I guess nothing is going to change the minds of the hard right, but their sources - of which this is one, imo - takes it for granted that there is a leftist swamp, which of course is very vague and nebulous, but works for them for all that.
More specifically, though, they also take for granted that there is a leftwing takeover underway, higher taxes (a sentiment as predictable as the sun rising in the east) govt. takeover of health care (they should be so lucky) and an assault on election integrity.
If they looked in the mirror and traded out a very few words, they would be aiming that rhetoric a lot more accurately.
