McConnell says Taylor Greene's embrace of conspiracy theories a 'cancer' to GOP, country
Source: The Hill
Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) on Monday blasted Georgia GOP Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greenes embrace of loony lies and conspiracy theories as a cancer for the Republican Party.
Somebody whos suggested that perhaps no airplane hit the Pentagon on 9/11, that horrifying school shootings were pre-staged, and that the Clintons crashed JFK Jr.s airplane is not living in reality, McConnell said in a statement first shared with The Hill. This has nothing to do with the challenges facing American families or the robust debates on substance that can strengthen our party.
McConnell didn't mention Greene by name in his three-sentence statement, but his rare, scathing remarks about a freshman GOP lawmaker from the other chamber suggests he recognizes the potential damage her violent rhetoric and bizarre conspiracy theories could inflict on congressional Republicans as they try to take back both the House and Senate in next years midterms.

McConnell has been making some mistakes lately, unlike his usual canny steps.
So he is trying to dig himself out of the hole he is in.

(11,555 posts)this kind of insanity will destroy the party, and I think he also knows trump is trying to destroy it! Green is really making the party look bad, and trump loves it. One thing about trump, he want's revenge because the thinks republicans did not do enough to spread his false claim and lies about the election. He has no intentions of "helping" them, his goal is to take them all down.
This could be Mitch's last chance to stop the insanity!

Have you ever met or saw someone doing a job and wonder, How the hell did they ever get in that position?
I once was told by someone that they referred to those people as post turtles. When people say phrases like these, my curiosity is peaked.
Ok, you got me! What is a post turtle? He said, Every once in a while you see a turtle on a fence post. He cant go anywhere; hes kind of stuck and he doesnt know how he got there or what the hell hes doing there.
Thats a post turtle, but you dont blame the turtle for his lack of post-sitting skills or finesse. Its better to blame the dumb ass that put him there in the first place.

(98,468 posts)You had no problems with your lunatic president the past four years spouting conspiracy theories since it lined your pockets with silver and stacked the courts. You had no problems as you watched him commit genocide, almost a half million now and you said nothing as he promoted injecting bleach, lights in the body and drugs that were not approved.
FU Mitch.

It has metastasized and is now destroying the brain.

Speaker Pelozi has had the "Heroes Act" on McConnell's desk since July 15, 2020 (almost 6 months ago). Moscow Mitch did NOTHING except to brag about not passing any bill because he's "the grim reaper". History will not be kind to Moscow Mitch.

Should my family be concerned about eyesight damage from the space lasers? Do we need special goggles? Would rose-colored glasses work?
and....
Are you setting up GoFundMe pages to help all those kids your people say have been harmed by Secretary Clinton?
If you can't help me with those extremely serious issues, we suggest you resign.
