ROSELAND, N.J., Feb. 3, 2021 /PRNewswire/ -- Private sector employment increased by 174,000 jobs from December to January according to the January ADP® National Employment Report. Broadly distributed to the public each month, free of charge, the ADP National Employment Report is produced by the ADP Research Institute® in collaboration with Moody's Analytics. The report, which is derived from ADP's actual payroll data, measures the change in total nonfarm private employment each month on a seasonally-adjusted basis.

(7,402 posts)In the last 12 months ADP reports 9,482,000 jobs lost. It takes roughly 150,000 jobs added each month to keep up with population growth. Add that 1,800,000 to the actual jobs lost and we are in worse shape by 11,282,000 jobs. And Republicans don't think any more stimulus is necessary.
Also, GDP numbers are a joke because of the huge increase in health care that is making the number artificially high. Late this year that number should tank and only then can we begin to see where the economy really stands. Yes, opening the economy back up fully will more than offset this but the number will be weaker than faulty projections that fail to take this into account.
