Biden commits to $1,400 checks in call to House Democrats

Source: The Hill

President Biden said during a call with House Democrats on Wednesday that he is committed to boosting stimulus checks to $2,000 by giving most Americans another $1,400 in direct payments in a new round of coronavirus relief.

Biden also urged House Democrats to “go big, not small” on a new COVID-19 relief package and to stick together as they sell his nearly $2 trillion stimulus plan to the American people, according to a source on the call.

"I'll have your back. I ask that you have mine,” Biden said.

“We have to go big, not small,” Biden told the lawmakers. “Every major poll shows the American people are with us.”

the payments to only those who lost income. It says ‘most’ Americans.

I wonder if some are still pushing for $2000 checks instead of $1400. Hopefully so since my Amazon wish list is pretty long. I need that Apple Watch 6!

Who have list their businesses, hobs, etc. who are in really bad shape.

There isn't time for feet dragging on this.

Joe is doing what he promised - helping Americans who are suffering economically.

I know a righty who is so pissed off over people getting anything that he is going around lying to people, telling them he read they will have to pay stimulus money and unemployment supplements back, etc..

It is hard for me to imagine living with so much miserly bile, greed and envy in my heart.

It’s a choice they make when things aren’t going their way.

The last four years and the Bush years could have made me into a completely unpleasant person if I had let it.

I’d steer clear of toxic Mr. Righty and let him stew in his own misery.

Manchin has stated he will not support any COVID relief bill that doesn’t get bipartisan support, which means $1400 checks and $15/hr min wage may be DOA.

So, even through reconciliation, Manchin can block COVID relief,

By bipartisan, Manchin means the process ... not the votes.
