Biden, at Prayer Breakfast, Calls Out 'Political Extremism'

President Joe Biden on Thursday called for a confrontation of the “political extremism” that inspired the U.S. Capitol riot and appealed for collective strength during such turbulent times in remarks at the National Prayer Breakfast, a Washington tradition that asks political combatants to set aside their differences for one morning.

The breakfast has sparked controversy in the past, particularly when President Donald Trump used last year's installment to slam his political opponents and question their faith. Some liberals have viewed the event warily because of the conservative faith-based group that is behind it.

Still, Biden campaigned for the White House as someone who could unify Americans, and the breakfast gave the nation's second Catholic president a chance to talk about his vision of faith as a force for good.

“For so many in our nation, this is a dark, dark time,” Biden told those watching the event. “So where do we turn? Faith.”

Strangely enough, many of those people also loved Trump. And Trump was one of those guys who if he walked into a church it would burn down.

Funny war story follows: the Army publishes Soldiers Magazine to distribute information to the troops. One issue that was put out during my time in service talked about chaplains, and they interviewed this retired chaplain who kept trying to get one of his first sergeants to come to church on Sunday. The first sergeant told the chaplain that if he ever came to church the building would burn down. Well...the first sergeant died of a heart attack on active duty, and the chaplain scheduled a funeral for him. As they were pushing his casket into the chapel, an electrical fire started in the choir loft.

They believe that Donald Trump is sent by God as a holy leader

......actually Donald, who lived the ultimate hedonistic life, has said he doesn't need God, doesn't need forgiveness because he hasn't ever done anything wrong. Can't name one verse when asked for his favorite. Uses the Bible as a prop, and doesn't even know what side is up. And does not attend church services unless it is a photo op of Trumpgelicals praying for him.

6. The National Prayer Breakfast is the one thing I wish Biden would REJECT

as a legitimate washington institution. It lost that cred many many years ago and he should know it.
