Biden would 'love to see action' from Congress on firearms, press secretary says

President Biden would love to see action by Congress on additional gun safety measures and is personally committed to the issue, White House press secretary Jen Psaki said Thursday.
Psakis comments came in response to a question at the daily White House press briefing about a Washington Post report that showed firearm sales soared in January after a pro-Trump mob assault on the U.S. Capitol and the arrival of a new administration that favors tighter gun restrictions.
More than 2 million firearms were bought last month, according to The Posts analysis of federal gun background-check data. That is an 80 percent year-over-year spike and the third-highest one-month total on record.
This is an issue he is personally committed to, Psaki said, adding, And, you know, I think he would love to see action on additional gun safety measures to protect families and children and knows that there is support across the American public for that. Psaki said she was not able to say how soon a proposal might be coming from the White House. But again, this is an issue he has personally committed to, she said.

Mark Kelly doesn't appear to be serving on Committees that might have oversight over the gun issue as a freshman Senator (found the final assignments
here), but hopefully if there is some special committee set up for drafting legislation in the future, he will be integrally involved!
The scary thing is to have had 2 millions weapons bought in just the LAST MONTH.
