Tom Brady, Tampa Bay Dismantle Kansas City to Win Super Bowl 55
Source: NBC
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers, led by quarterback legend Tom Brady, largely dominated Kansas City on Sunday during Super Bowl 55. Brady earned his seventh title as the Bucs defeated Kansas City 31-9.
Patrick Mahomes and Kansas City had the opportunity to become back-to-back Super Bowl champions. But Brady, regarded as the greatest football player of all time, and the Buccaneers playing at home sacked their chances.
The Brady-Mahomes matchup was the first among players who have won both the NFL MVP and Super Bowl MVP awards. It's was the sixth meeting between former regular-season MVPs and the second between former Super Bowl MVPs.
There was significant hype before the game touting a battle between the greatest of all time, Brady, against the greatest quarterback of his generation, Mahomes.

Hes just like maggot.
I revel in every Bowl he is not in.
Until then there is the Puppy bowl.

(14,371 posts)Left before halftime. Both of us disgusted with the commentators constant gushing over Brady. Not to mention the refs calling every little thing instead of just letting them play.
Quit watching because they were like you say gushing all over brady.

So, I'd say Brady is a fan and friend of the Donald.

(13,643 posts)I think Aaron Rodgers sounds like a good guy, but I've found most QB's are right wingers. I wouldn't look to them for political leadership advice, that's for sure.
But when big NFL leaders like Brady say they support a horrid person like Trump, it only makes me want to quit watching football. I may just do that...again.

(34,407 posts)Brady has played golf with lots of people, and I'm sure he wouldn't bad-mouth any of them. People sure do love to hate Tom Brady...and it's been going on long before Trump ran for President.

Brady was one of the very first people to endorse Trump in 2015. This cycle, he tried to differentiate between supporting someone politically and supporting them because they're friends, but didn't indicate that he didn't support Trump's bid for reelection.

(6,309 posts).... good money that no one here at Democratic Underground knows the political leanings of but a few NFL football players. Most people don't know exactly what kind of person they are rooting for on any given team. I'm also of the opinion that out of all the reasons people root for their favorite teams, the political leanings of it's players is at the bottom or near non-existent.
amuse bouche
(3,672 posts)His mom is one of those nutty RW xtians. Didn't see anyone mentioning that. A lot of Dems look ridiculous with their nonsensical Brady hate.
My son said, Tom is a rich guy. They like to golf. That was the main association of him to trump, quite some time ago
Brady didn't go to the WH, when he won his last Super Bowl. Trump was pissed

(6,309 posts)After the Tampa Bay Buccaneers won the Super Bowl I haven't heard one single word about Brady's politics or his relationship with Trump. Why? Because it's not about that. It's about football. Personally, I'm glad Tampa Bay won. Unless the San Diego, I mean Los Angeles Chargers are playing I always root for the underdog, and although I'm a Razorback fan, I've always admired Leonard Fournette. I was glad to see him get the win. He earned it.

(10,943 posts)... Brady accepts a White House invite, if offered. He will like the attention. I think he was cozy with Trump in the beginning, just because he was a celebrity President. If it wasn't Biden, I think Brady would send out a "Don't ask" signal.
amuse bouche
(3,672 posts)Brady said on Stern, trump invited him to judge a pageant. He thought that was cool, because at the time, he was a young guy (24)
If he wanted attention, he would have gone to the WH the last time he won the SB. He didn't go and trump was pissed
Also, trump asked Brady to speak at the RNC. He declined
I know a lot about him. I've been a fan for 20 years
I bet many don't know Roger Goodell hates Brady and whipped up that deflate gate BS. There is even a documentary about it. Roger is evil
He's responsible for the shunning of Kaepernick too.
Mike Nelson
(10,943 posts)... for that information. I do think Tom Brady was not interested in the negative attention responding to Trump would bring - he probably has little use for him, outside of having a golf interest in common. I do think he will consider going to the current White House, along with his team. I'll watch out for Goodell!

(19,491 posts)Before anyone gives Tom Brady a trophy, dont forget that the Chiefs have the right to exhaust every legal avenue to challenge the result. It would be irresponsible to congratulate the Buccaneers so early. Many many fans are upset. Wouldnt want them to lose trust.
Lots of people are saying Kansas City won. It seems very suspicious that KC was winning 3 - 0 and then a lot of points came in for Tampa Bay.
The Chiefs won and it will be shown on Feb 29 that the TV stations aired a deep fake game paid for by a deep state Super Bowl PAC run by Gronks mother and grandmother. This is all true.

(34,407 posts)of Brady & Co. for what seems like forever. I am thrilled he won this one, as I don't think Belichick was supportive of Tom at all. They let him twisting out there to take the abuse for all the 'cheater' accusations. This one, especially with Gronk, was extra special to me. His golfing with Trump had no effect on my appreciation for his abilities. Now Bob Kraft is a different story. He's too smart to hob-knob with Trump in recent years, so like all the other Republicans of his kind, I wonder what Trump has on him. At least Putin gave him back his ring.
I know Putin had the ring. I was not aware Kraft got it back.
